There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Can anyone out there tell me how much this service cost. I heard it is around 800.00 is that right . That seems a very high price. Can someone let me know and does it have to be done at exactly 10,000 km because I will be away on holidys when it turns to 10,000 km...

$800 to $1000 seems about right if valve adjustment is included. Many of us are NOT doing the recommended valve adjustment--which adds 4 to 5 hours labor on top of any other servicing.

I had 20K on my 2008 GS, with no valve adjustments--it is still going strong under new ownership--no valve adjustmets yet.

No valve adjustments on 2009 RS--approaching 20K miles

No valve adjustments on my 2010 RTS--15K miles.

Just wanta add:::our 2008 SE5 with 43,000+ miles never had the valves checked or adjusted. When the tech checked them before reselling it after I traded for a 2010 RT, he said the valves were perfect. Now the RT is approaching 10,000 and all I am doing is changing the oil and filter, and soon (about 11,000) a new rear tire...going with a BFG G-Force. Yes, the belt is a bit loose, but the new tire will take care of the adjustment.
In case you're wondering, I have used Royal Purple 10W40 Synthetic automotive oil in both Spyders...the 2008 SE5 for 40,000 of the 43,000.

Dudley, thanks for the info. I opted to not do the 12k valve check since the dealer told me that BRP is changing the interval on this. Might look into royal purple since I am still using BRP bottled oil made by???????

I have a service contract but my 10,000 KM or 6,000 mile service cost $382.00 according to the receipt I got for my records. However, they did not check the valves. I failed to accurately read the maintenance schedule and didn't insist on it. I don't think the valves needed to be checked anyway. They did check the valves at the 12,000 mile or 20,000 KM service and they were all still spot on as might be expected. I run the BRP semi-synthetic oil since it's paid for in the maintenance agreement.

Dudley, you need to give me some riding lessons and teach me how to make my rear tires last longer. I replaced the original at 9,000 and replaced the second one not long after you were here with just over 5,400 on it. The second one wasn't completely worn out but we were planning on going to Cuba and it would not have made that round trip. I put a Kumho Ecsta on mine and like it very well, so far. Have about 2,000 miles on it and it seems to be wearing well.
