• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

With the frunk off I ordered LED head lights and Fog Lights so that is the pending one.

With fresh sparkplugs and new rear tire once the lights are in I will be ready for Spyderfeast:yes::yes::yes:

LED Headlights and Fog Lights installed Sunday (sorry no pictures). Now Ready to ride :yes::yes::yes:

Very Nice. Too bad the frunck has to be removed to get to the shock bolt

You can do it with the frunck on, but it's a lot easier with it off. Having it off also made running the additional wires from the turn signals to the fenders a lot easier as well.

The Fox Shox were a very good upgrade for us.

No complaints and a bunch of miles on them.

The front Fox Shox swap took me about 30 minutes and no removal of the frunk.

The upper bolts are not fun to get to, but not impossible. I wrote it off as no big deal.

So far the only complaint I have is that the spanner wrench is not included. Doesn't make sense to have adjustability with out the tool to do that.:gaah:

Ironically, when we do suspension on race bikes, seldom do we use a spanner for the preload adjustments. The most common method is to use a longer drift style tool, often soft faced and non marring to tap the upper lock ring loose. Preload is then adjusted with the wheel raised and turning the spring by hand. Once the preload is set, the lockring is brought down hand tight and tapped to secure it.

Fox has been making shocks for around 40 years. I doubt at this point they will change their ways.

As for our machine, I measured a before and after ride height. The height increased slightly. The Fox Shox did come with instructions on what setting to dial in the ride height to. They specify that with the rider, or rider and passenger, or rider and passenger and cargo to measure the shock length under a laden condition on level ground. The shock eye to eye length should be 17 1/2 ".

I would suggest if you do make adjustments, lower the vehicle onto several layers of thick garbage bags or the equivalent to allow the wheels to move freely as the suspension is settled to take the shock measurements.

What kind of rear tire did you get?

By the way I like the Amber/ Red lights on your fender. I have the same thing on my 2014RTS-SE6 ( Amber Fender LED with Safety Reflector design/ Red Fender LED with Safety Reflector design that I bought from TRIC-LED). Deanna

Good combination of time per project. Now honestly was it all planned?
Or great farkle connivence?

The shocks were planned along with sparkplug change. Been thinking about the changing the fender lights and now having very easy access from the other mods allowed me the opportunity to do that. Of course with the frunck off I thought LED lights.

So yes and no!
