• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

1,000 mile review

Some observations:

1. Tracking well thus far so alignment is good. I’ll keep an eye on tire wear patterns.

2. Quirk? I started the bike up while standing beside it and got the exclamation point/limp mode message. I shut it down and then sat on seat...normal start. I did it again (standing beside) another day and realized I did not press the start button squarely...kind of off center. Spyder doesn’t like that.

3. Installed “missing” belt guard. Straight forward install. I trimmed the areas that fit around the brackets (to clear the welds). Fit check, then cut the protective film in the center and pulled back each side a bit. Positioned the guard in center first, then worked each side a bit at a time by pulling film away as I pressed the guard on. Test rode to make sure nothing was hitting.

4. At highway speeds (65-70), I hear/feel slight vibration. Comes and goes when varying those top speeds. No biggie for now.

5. I think I finally got BRP Connect to work, will test it out tomorrow.

6. Next up in upgrades is a decent sounding horn.

7. Having hella good time with this awesome machine.

Thanks for the review. We don't get a lot of these any more.

Good to hear

:agree: it is nice to hear what the newcomers are finding as they get aquainted with their rydes... on the horn.... most will recommend the Stebil or the Rolo Bad Boy but I found adding at second horn does a better job...

Gene, I do need a second horn. Where would I install it? Thanks.
:spyder2:

Yes the Horn  Who's idea was this? LOL

Where is the odometer? Is it on the trip screen C?

If so I am at 500 and loving it and so are my Achilles tendons on both feet, that's why I gave up the Gold wing, miss the torque not the pain!
First ride we went to Denny's Beer Barrel Pub about 100 miles one way, lots of long turns on 286 and was laughing the whole time so was the wife!
Rides very smooth with no harsh feed back thru handle bars.

BRP connect works great for me!

Got to be aware in the rain. We hit a big down pour and the low spots from traffic hold a lot of water so you need to slow down on the highways, but felt very safe vs the Two wheeler.

Hope the dealer can fix the problem with the DPS code P1F05. <-- my only complaint!

It is fun, my wife and I sound like Maxwell on the Geico insurance commercials LOL

Hi gang,
This forum reminds me of another I belonged to when I was two-wheeling with my Burgman 650. Great info with many eager to share their experience and know-how. Spent many hours DIYing and farkling.

Ran into a good downpour this afternoon. The Spyder is very well mannered. I ride in rain the same as I drive...account for additional time/distance and defensively aware of conditions and traffic around me.

BRP connect worked very well; though audio volume lacked oomph. I’ll have to fiddle with phone and app volume controls to see if that improves on it.

Been very hot around these parts lately so I look forward to more seasonal temps and eager to see how far into later months I can ride (heated grips/engine under me for warmth).
