• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

‘21 RT Highway Pegs for Tall Riders

The ‘21 RT is a great machine, but it does not have the legroom of the F3. Those who are over say 6’4” tend to have their boots right up the front of the boards, just behind the mudguard. It’s a comfortable position, but there are times on long trips where you just need to stretch those legs.

The stock highway pegs from Lamont etc just don’t work as long legged boots are already at the back of the mudguard, so they just raise your feet a few inches, which actually brings your boots closer to you :gaah:

I thought I might be able to reverse Lamont’s board risers to lower the boards, but the design of the brake pedal prevents that (it works on the left board:thumbup:). I have a great many highway peg brackets from my riding days, and thought “I must be able to work something” with all this stuff.

Sure enough, I had a highway peg bracket that I could reverse and bolt through the floorboard, so that it sits 2” below the current board level. I added a peg to it, and voila…….move my boot out from the board and it sits beautifully on the peg. The peg is still higher than the a-arms so there is no risk of it being too low. I can now nearly stretch my leg out straight.

I have been unable to take it for a test ride as yet, as we are in lockdown, but I hope to sneak out for a little while tomorrow. Any thoughts on potential issues with this setup will be gratefully accepted.

.

Good on ya Pete for finding a simple solution. On our '14 RTS I found that resting my feet at the end of the factory floorboard on the plastic wind deflector was the right fit but the wrong material. I fashioned some foot rests that bolt to the bottom of the floorboard and have a peg just in front of the aforementioned wind deflector. Cost $5. Thank goodness I can weld and form steel. Perfect fit for my inseam.
