• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Came home from an evening out and opened an email from Tire Rack that my order for 3 tires was cancelled. They are not allowed to sell passenger car tires for a Spyder. RATS!!!. Looks like I won't be getting Brownie up and running this week. Thanks for the...

Need new rear tire for RT 2012. Tire store recommends directional tire for bike

I've looked over prior posts on front and rear tires for the Spyder since I need new tires for my 2012 RT. I have a front tire that is losing air (despite Ride On) and decided all 3 tires need replaced. The rear one is almost 6 years old and still looks great (it's a Mirada Sport GTX...

    Albuquerque

Sorry to hear you won't be able to ride with us. We will be here until Monday; our friends are staying until Saturday. Last night's winds blew Ed's motorcycle cover off; he's out looking for it now. It could be in the next state by now, with the wind gusts we are having here! We are looking...

    Limitations

We just had the ISCI handbrake installed on my RT on Monday; I found that with my neuropathy worsening, I was often riding with my feet on the passenger floorboards and didn't like being so far from the brake pedal. Ed changed out the brake lever to one that Jeff sent us home with, thinking it...

    Women's Seminar

A group of women are at a seminar on how to live in a loving relationship with your husband. The women were asked, "How many of you love your husband?" All the women raised their hands. Then they were asked, "When was the last time you told your husband you loved him?" Some women answered...

    NEED HELP

Go for it, Wanna be! At the age of 57, after riding 30,000+ miles behind Erags on our 2008 SM5 GS/RS, I bought our 2012 SE5 RT...without having a motorcycle endorsement at the time. I had never had any motorcycle experience (other than learning enough to drive the Spyder in the event of an...

    Need your help, please

One of the other Girls on Spyders posted this info about a contest for a Smart Brailler. She requested votes for the Porter child, who is the grandson of friends of theirs. All it takes is a little time to cast a vote; the contest ends at midnight ET Sept 8th so time is running out. Please...

First case of boiling gas, first HEAT trip!

You might want to park outside for a little while after riding when you are worried about heat issues, so you don't end up with a fire in your garage.

Missing---Joke Forum, so I'll just start a thread.

Boudreaux, the taxi driver Boudreaux once had a job as a taxicab driver in Baton Rouge. One day, he picked up a Texan on his way to the airport. When they passed by the LSU football stadium, the Texan said "What's that?" Boudreaux said, "Dat's Tiger Stadium." The Texan said, "How long did...

    Bummed...

So sad; praying for you and your friend's family. Suicide always causes such a problem with "survivor guilt." Don't beat yourself up over his actions. Allow yourself time to grieve; may your memories of the good times sustain you through the bad ones.

    Dealer installed new fuel gauge

I guess you can see if the new gauge helps any; some folks have had improvement, some haven't. We had the dealer disconnect our gauges due to the bouncing driving me nuts. Digital gauges are much more accurate. We ordered 52 mm gauges from www.prosportgauges.com. Now we've got a more accurate...

    Thermal event

I think the reason some folks have mentioned having a fire extinguisher is in case it's needed for the person/people on the Spyder, :yikes: not for the actual bike.

    Insurance question

I had to call our company today about this issue since we picked up a new Can-Am trailer and wanted to make sure we were covered on the road. Our insurance policies on both Spyders are with Progressive; they have $3000 in accessories coverage automatically. If you want more coverage it is sold...

Highway Pegs - RT Spyder Limited 2013

We added Lamont's NBV pegs to our RT in April (with a spider web style of peg) so I could stretch my legs on longer rides. I absolutely LOVE them but the heat on the right is way worse when your foot is on the peg. We then had to add Spyderpops' heat block-off plate. Now the heat is...

I sent that one to Ed's daughter (expecting twins in Sept) when it first made the rounds awhile back, and she did NOT think it was funny at all. She just doesn't have a sense of humor, I guess! :roflblack: I thought it was pretty hilarious.

    Ride-On Help

We've never had any problem using Ride On in Florida...it's certainly hot (but humid, not dry) here. It seems to me someone had complained it can dry out in hot temps. Folks either seem to be proponents of using it, or not.

    Good Days and Bad

So sorry to hear of your accident, Scotty...that certainly didn't come at a good time for you. (Of course, there's NEVER a good time for that, when it comes right down to it). We'll keep our fingers crossed that surgery won't be necessary. Soft tissue injuries are the worst, as far as keeping...
