• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    "Clunking" sound.

Hello to all from sunny South Africa. After a 150Km ride this morning, whilst pushing my 2009 RS into the garage with the motor cooled down and not running I noticed a loud clunk from somewhere in the bowels of the machine. Only "clunks" once when changing direction. I.E. When pushing forward...

    new dual exhaust ?

This is what mine looks like with dual exhausts and Givi bags. Sounds like a Ducati, goes like the clappers and no heat issues with the Givi bags.

New Spyder owner with Highway speed concerns(Wind blast & turns),need input please!

My 10c worth. The wind will always be a factor, after enough saddle time you will get used to it and hardly notice it unless it really howls. Always look at your intended exit point in a cornering situation. This sorts out hand eye coordination and really smooths out the cornering, particularly...

I sure hope that you are in one piece and just shaken up. Bikes, one can replace. Bones not.

    Stebel Nautilus for an RS.

Straight swop ? Hello chaps, thank you for the good info and pictures. As I am not too clued up on the electrical side of things, is it not possible to just swop the wires off the stock horn and attach them to the new horn ? or are there electrical issues that I am not aware of. I'd rather ask...

    Stebel Nautilus for an RS.

It's a bit incongruous when one has a really cool looking machine that has all the performance upgrades, goes like the clappers, turns heads everywhere and then goes "" parp"" when you blow the horn. In order to remedy this, I intend fitting a Stebel Nautilus air horn but need to know how...

    Can't find it ........

Thank's for the comeback but the items you are referring to attach to the tupperware on the sides of the Spyder and have no function other that to protect the plastic from being scratched ! The one's that I saw were mounted almost as part of the seat or at least right in front of the seat and...

    Can't find it ........

I am quite sure that I recently saw ( on the Internet or maybe this forum) an RS fitted with what looked like knee brace pads on the front of the seat. The purpose being to assist in hard cornering. I.E. the knee opposite to the direction in which you are turning could be stabilized against that...

    Heat

First thing I did when I got the RS was to wrap the pipes from as close to the engine as I could get to just where the wrap is not visible under the bike. I have never had a heat issue even in the height of summer. Cheap, effective and in some circles advocated for increase in performance. Ride...

Econorun SA - RS Fuel consumption.

Nope, the wife didn't win but finished 3rd in class. As well as the organizers weren't sure in which class the Spyder should compete, it did manage to beat a Yamaha R1 and BMW R series on overall finish. The Spyder drew a lot of attention and the organizers stated that should there be three or...

Econorun SA - RS Fuel consumption.

For those of you RS owners wondering how far you can go on a tank of petrol, here's an official verdict. The wife has just returned from competing in the 30th annual RFS Econorun. This is an annual motorcycle competition held here in South Africa to measure/compare the fuel economy of unmodified...

ANYONE ...HAVE THIS ALSO .....FOOT OFF BRAKE AND WANTS TO GO

SE 5 "creeping" Yep, mine started doing it at around 1,000Km which was most annoying. After much backwards and forwarding to the dealer they replaced the clutch under warranty. No problems since. Good luck.

    Phantom 540 - Accident - Roll over

Atgatt Anytime you can walk away from a bike prang is a minor miracle. The odds will always be against you. The wearing of the best gear you can afford is not negotiable. Wearing a rated full face helmet is a no brainer. In my experience ATGATT will not neccessarily prevent broken bones but...

    Finally

No dispute with any of the above comments. When I am asked "How does it handle ?" My stock answer is that it is nothing like anything you may have driven or ridden before. It calls for a brand new skills set if you are going to get the best out of it and this can only be achieved with ride time...

    Juice box

I have no experience of the Juicebox but have to say that on my 2009 SE5 with a straight through dual exhaust setup and K&N air filter, the inclusion of the O2 modifier sorted all the popping, staggering, and backfiring issues.
