• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Well, that didn't take long... First fault on my new 2023 RTL! Air Suspension Fault.

We just picked up a new 2022 leftover RT Limited and on the way home the suspension Fault warning came on several times in the 70 mile drive. After putting gas in, the VSS warning came on and turned off. Spyder performed normally for the remaining 33 miles home. I’ve called the dealer we picked...

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

We’ll do the whole thing. It was about 5 rides to get the 900 miles.

One year on the oil & filters, but only 900 miles - is it OK to change just the oil?

We have one year on the oil and both oil filters but only 900 miles ridden last year for a variety of reasons. We’re planning to change the oil but leave the two oil filters as the engine and transmission are well beyond break in period. Used a complete BRP kit last time, just hoping to change...

Safe jacking points on an 2012 RT-S

From the 2013 BRP shop manual, it recommends using the rear shock as the lift point.

Here's some Tips on Lifting the RT!

Is it OK to put a Jackstand under rear shock absorber? I like that you’ve posted pictures. My wife just transitioned from 2 wheels to a 2013 RTS SE5 that she bought from the original 95 yr old owner. I’m doing my first oil and filter change on this “new” machine. I do most of the basic...

Where do you jack the Spyder Up?

Those pictures for the jackstands were great. I’d hope that despite the posting about supporting on the shock bolt it would be ok to use a 2x4 across the mount to a jack stand. Seems to me that the shock bolt is supporting all the weight sitting on the ground then it shouldn’t be stressed as a...

    upshifting the SE5 with throttle

Thanks for the info in this post. New to Spyder and coming from a 2 wheel motorcycle. The 2013 manual only talks about 3200 +/- 200 for shifting and the dealer says shift at 4k and many say shift at 5k or better. Seems like it’s learn the speed at which shifting keeps the next gear at or above...

    Oil in 998cc air box

Crankcase breather modification Is the idea with this filter inserted in the crankcase vent line that the oil vapors condense out the oil and it drains back into the crankcase? Would this work if you’re going for several hours on a trip? I’d think the positive airflow from the crankcase would...

What are these wires going into the seat pan? 2013 RTS SE5

We just finalized the purchase of a 2013 RTS SE5 from a 96 year old church friend who says he should probably stop driving now. He’s the original owner and it has very low miles. I’ve attached a picture of the wires, did these Spyders have heated seats?

2013 Oil Leak and Burnt Oil Smell

In an aggregate answer to several questions. All the engine areas we could see by taking off the two panels over the oil tank and opposite side panel were dry no indicator of anything wet. The oil filler cap was on correctly. The heat recall modification was completed at the 600 mile service...

2013 Oil Leak and Burnt Oil Smell

We’re looking at a 2013 RTS SE5 that belongs to an elderly friend of ours. He’s the original owner. It’s been in storage in a heated rv and car garage for about 3 years. When we went to test ride it I knew to check the oil we had to warm it up, so we idled it until the cooling fan cycled twice...

2013 RT SE5 ownership advice - pre purchase

The owner hasn’t set a price because he’s just started thinking about selling it. There was a red 2012 Spyder RT with leather seats all the luggage and 7300 miles for $8491 at Infinity of Bellevue Seattle late in September and I’ve seen a couple others, a 2013 ST-L for $9500 so I expect it’ll...

2013 RT SE5 ownership advice - pre purchase

2013 model information The model looks like an RT-S given what I can see on 2013 reviews, and it’s yellow so that limited it two 2 models ST-S and RT-S. The luggage on the one indicates RT-S. The title and registration are at another place but here’s a picture of a picture.

2013 RT SE5 ownership advice - pre purchase

We are looking into buying a friends 2013 RT SE5 as a machine to transition from 2 wheels to 3 wheels. He bought this spyder new in 2013 when he was 87, and he’s ridden it about 1000 miles a year, mostly 2x up with his slightly older wife. She’s now passed away and he says at 96 he probably...
