• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Elka/Yoshi

Recently added the Elka shocks (front & rear) and a Yoshimura exhaust and am pleased with both mods. The shocks definitely improve the ride & handling, and the Yoshi with the DB reducer adds a nice rumble without being too loud. Not cheap, but money well spent. BobSled

    hindle vs two brothers?

I had the Hindle installed when I bought the RS, too loud and rough running for me. I'm looking for a sound in between the stock and the Hindle? Does the Leo Vince fit in this category? BobSled

    12 Miles & Tires & Shocks

The conceses seems to be: skip the valve check untill 24k miles; safer to stay with the Kendas; there is probably an alignment issue; and RT shocks are an improvement but the Elka's are even better. Called the local dealer and he quoted me $800 for the 12k service w/o the valve check; $400...

    12 Miles & Tires & Shocks

Have right at 12,000 miles on a 2009 RS and its time for service and a few other things. Before I schedule the service can you guys help me out with a couple of questions? Service - does everything on the list need to be done or can something like valve check be left off to reduce cost? Front...

    Clicking Brakes?

Rode it again yesterday to confirm and it is one or two clicks from the front brakes just when the brake is applied, not continuous. Maybe it has always done that but I only noticed it cause I was cruising around the neighborhood without a helmet. Don't want to make a trip to the dealer if it...

    Clicking Brakes?

Rode my wife's RS the other day and noticed a clicking sound coming from the front tires when I applied the brakes, don't recall hearing this before. It is a 2009 with only 7,000 miles. Any ideas? Thanks, RJB

    Honda Trike

Thanks for the replies, I think I'll look into alternatives such as shipping the RS or renting a sports car. The rental cost of the trike is double that of a motorcycle, so that opens up some options. RJB

    Honda Trike

Planning a bike trip through Utah this summer, flying out and renting bikes. My wife rides a Spyder RS and will not ride a 2 wheeler again but it is no surprise I cannot find any to rent. Closest I can find is a Honda Trike. Can anybody offer any comparisons? If she can ride a Spyder is it...

    Riding double, RS vs RT

I have an RS and did spend quite a bit making it comfortable for 2-up riding. But I consider handling to be as important as comfort, and would question those with the RT if it corners as well as the RS.

    Rain On Visor

Got caught in the rain a couple of times this weekend. On Saturday had trouble seeing through the visor so I thought an application of RainX would be the solution. Actually seemed to make it worse! Anybody using something on the visor that helps the rain run off? BobSled

    HOT - HOT - HOT

If the gaskets are leaking hot exhaust gas wouldn't there be a significant increase in sound?

    Lake Geneva Ryde tomorrow!

I used to live in the burbs of Chicago and spent many summer weekends at my folks cottage on the lake. Geneva City is a great place to stretch the legs while window shopping, then go to Fontana (opposite end of lake from Geneva City) and stop by Chucks On The Lake. The Southern route around...

    Spyder Rental?

Would like to take a bike trip out West (Grand Canyon or Yellowstone) this fall but do not have the time to trailer the Spyder all the way from Florida. Found several places to rent a motorcycle for myself but wife will only drive a Sypder. Anybody recommend a dealer I could contact to inquire...

I did a test and ran it dry after the fuel light (1 bar) came on, went 47 miles. RJB

    Helmet air conditioner needed...

Yeah, 90+ degrees it is tough to gear up. I have a full-face and wondering if the open-face with a visor would be cooler enough to make a difference worth the expense of another helmet. Comments? RJB

    Drop Tail Trailer

I looked at enclosed trailers also, but didn't have any place to store one. The drop tail trailer folds up and rolls against the garage wall, takes up about 80" wide x 36" deep and the gate becomes a usable storage shelf. Trailers nice because it tucks in behind my SUV, you could forget it was...

    Drop Tail Trailer

It is the One Up Cruiser model. If you contact them they will know which trailer fits the RS. The clearance between the outside fenders of the RS and the inside fenders of the trailer is about 1" when driving it on, once clear of the fenders no worries. If the RT is wider, may need to move up...

    Drop Tail Trailer

Pulled the bike From Tampa up to N. Georgia for a ride into N. Carolina and back. Most folks that saw the bike on the trailer thought it was custom made for the bike because it fit so well. The drop tail operation is very slick, hydraulic pump handle raises the ramp and a twist a knob it...

    Electrical Short

When I installed the mudflap lights a few months ago one of the wires running along the inside of the fender must not have been securely cable tied and rubbed against the tire until it wore through. In the process of wearing through it shorted out the lights, bike ran like crap and quit at a...

    Mixing Oil?

When on the road and you need to add motor oil, is it ok to add whatever is available or is it a big mistake to mix regular car oil with the synthetic BRP motorcycle oil? Thanks, RJb
