• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    How much oil should a spyder rt be using

    Same thing with the first 2010 Spyder and OEM oil. Especially if driven over 70 MPH. Sorry, after a leak test of 7%, BRP wouldn't do anything about it. :yikes: They said if it gets worse they would, yeah right. Roll of the dice I guess. So I traded it in for a 2012 and no problems so far...

    For what it's worth, the first 2010 Sypder did this a lot before the entire finger shifter left cluster was change out because it was loose. A lot less after that. Also noticed it did it when the oil was running low. The new 2012 hasn’t done it once, keep the fingers crossed ... :yes:

    Agree with Scotty, needs to be connected tightly or it will flip flop between AUX and iPod. However, if it doesn’t work at all it could be something else. :yikes:

    Yes the belt was loose. Still a bit of vibration at different stages, but what a big difference.

    Same thing happening with new 2012 RT just over 500 miles on it in the higher 5000 + RPM range Let off the throttle and vibration seems to go away. Will mention this to the dealer at 600 mile check.

    Experiencing the same issue with new 2012 RT :spyder2: and iPod. Seems if the cable is not in tight it may causes this. Going to mention it to the dealer this Tuesday and see what they have to say. :yikes:

    2 year old battery no good. Well it took a full charge over night to get the RTS to start this morning. Jumped on it right away and off to the dealer. 4 hrs later and $170.00 installed, it appears that the issue is resolved. :ohyea: It took long time to fully charge the new battery while...

    Ouch this hurts... Just tried the full throttle open and it turned over a few times but stalled. Ouch this hurts ... Could it be water in the gas? It's 3/4 full though? On the tender now charging. Any other ideas to try. Thanks all for responding.

    Seeking Spyder advice ... :dontknow: Spyder sat for three days. Tried to start it and it just turns over and over but won't start. Checked all fuses in frunk and under seat, all looked good. Charged battery with tender after trying to start it too many times just doesn’t seem to want to fire...

    All good points. Thank You! The owners manual has saved my butt more than a few times. The first time we noticed this issue was around 1400 miles. The Spyder went into LIMP mode. Posted the code on Spyderlovers and it referenced low oil. This is a good thing! Can’t remember the error code sorry...

    Wonder if there is an average oil consumption established yet for this model ? Think it would help the consumer to know this when considering buying a :spyder2:. The great news is it's under full extended warranty so the dealer/BRP should provide the 'beast" the oil it will use over the life...

    Spot on. It experiences the same symptoms. That’s when you know you must start checking the oil level. Also noticed if you try to run it hard just after it starts up, it sometime hesitates when shifting. My guess is the oil hasn’t made it all the way through the system yet. Rarely hesitates...
