• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Pretty sure I am selling my Phantom

If we get a n MP3 it will be used mostly for city and commuting to and from work. I don't see us touring on it but it seems capable of that if you wanted. I will have to research it further and make sure about its reliablility delaership network etc. I know there is a dealer about 50 miles away...

Is my power steering even working????

at nigth after you start the bike if you turn the handle bars do the lights dim?? Thats a reasonable indication that it is working. Working correctly may be a different story but clearly there is a power draw if that is happening.

    Kontour Seat.......

Thats ridiculous.. they also make some pretty serious claims and some that well are false IE "will wear longer - much longer - than commodity grade vinyl or even high quality leather" I cant speak for so much for vinyl but leather if properly taken care of will last you your lifetime..i know...

    BRP Tech/Customer support? NOT!

whiel I agree that having a good realtionship with a dealer can affect the work they do on you spyder what I disagree with is that it dictates how quickly and well they are done. So I am to expect crappy service if I just walk in off the street and want a 6000 mile service or warranty work done...

    Problems in heavy traffic?

It sounds like you may have some kind of problem for sure with the engine fighting the brakes, but i will tell you that my experience with my bike is that it is not suited well at all for stop and go hot weather driving. I HATE sitting in traffic on the spyder, it is almost unbearable in...

running rough, missing, popping, bad mpg

I changed mine to the honda gasket at 6000 miles but I will tell you that teh BRP gasket was still in pretty good shape. That being said the Honda one was clearly a better made product.

    battery lifespan?

It will depend on a lot of things including your driving habits, temps in your area etc etc My dad has a truck that is 8 years old and has the original battery in it. its become a fun thing for him to see how long it will go. My jeep battery lasted 5. On my harleys I had one last 4 years and one...

That looks like a Harley floor board. Much like th eones I had on my Road King. If this is 400 for the boards mounting kit and shifters that is a bargain comapred to what others want just for floorboards!

    Some 6K service questions?

I just did the 6000 mile service myself and did not take it in to have the valves checked. I may at 20-24k miles especially if the bike becomes hard to start or turn over etc. I am not sure what that may do to our warranties fi there is an issue but its a chance I and I beleive most are willing...

    LOVE my Spyder

Ive done my share of complaining but I do really love the spyder. i ride it more frequently than ANY bike I ever owned and it is more practical and useful to boot. its safer, attention grabbing and a technical marvel. its not without its faults but I do beleive we are part of learning curve and...
