• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Front Tire Removal

I was thinking about getting the GloRyders for my spyder but nowhere in the manual does it say how to or where to jack up the front end to remove them. I got to thinking, why wouldn't you get a jack with the spyder to remove them if you get a flat? For what we pay for these babys you would think you would get the proper equipment to maintain them. Can anyone help?

This doesn't have the storage of a car and what are you going to do with a jack on the road anyway? Most of us run RideOn in our tires.

As far as the GlowRyders install, you can install them without removing the wheel.

What would you do once you jacked it up to change the flat? There is also no spare tire! Make that two spare tires...the back is different, and I don't think a donut spare would make Nanny happy.

Ya Know... BRP does make a trailer for people that like to take their jack and 2 spares around with them... and it matches the spyder too!!...lol... I use rydeon also... would like the trailer though...:spyder2:

Trailer

How much would we need in the Trailer tires? Sorry I haven't checked the dosage for the tire size on the trailer. :dontknow:

Boy, I got slammed on that one. I wasn't asking about a spare tire. All I wanted to know was where to jack up the front to take the tire off if anyone has done so. According to GloRyder you need to take the tire off to screw eveything together.:dontknow:

I don't think anybody really meant to slam you. The highlighted statement led us in the wrong direction. To jack up the Spyder use a motorcycle/atv jack under the center of the frame, a floor jack on the flat part of the frame, or a floor jack (used very carefully) under the A-frame mounting bracket. The flat part of the frame works best, but clearance is tight, so you will need a low jack. BTW, a scissors jack would work there, too.

I use a regular scissor jack and a block of wood under the a arms. rear tire I jack up on the shock mount..

I used a floorjack with the padded handle of a hammer in between the arms. Worked great!
PS. I have never had a flat on any vehicle in 42 years of driving?:yikes::roflblack:

WOW! Do they still put houses together with wooden pegs and no nails or screws in Connecticut? I couldn't begin to count the flats I've had on my vehicles in 58 years of driving. But - and it's a BIG BUT - I've luckily never had a flat on a motorcycle while on a road trip. I've helped fix at least a dozen on other rider's bikes but never on mine. On the last trip my son and I took together, he had a flat on a new rear tire with less than 100 miles on it. Ran over something and punctured it. Fixed it with a Stop & Go kit and a small portable compressor.
