• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Spyder won't start.......it's dead Jim!!!!

I had the same thing happen to my RT 2012. Rode it one day and everything was fine----went to ride it the next day and it was totally dead. I trailered it to the dealer and they found that the main ground wire to the frame was loose. They tightened it up and everything was fine. Give it a...

    Does anyone else do this?

I go out into my garage and sit on my bikes all the time! What's wrong with that? And yes--I start them up---let them run--play with the throttle---hey it's a LONG, DARK, COLD winter here in Western New York!!! I say GO FOR IT!!! LOL

    Heated Gear

So, I'm probably gonna break down and finally invest in some heated gear. I'm thinking about jacket liner and pants liner to begin with. I was looking at the First Gear stuff--I like the idea of a remote controller---less wires to mess with. What's your experience and advice? I don't know...

BRP called me back today about my heat issues.

I'm not sure this means anything---but---on my 2012 RT--I removed both the large plastic panels under the engine. One (left side) to assist in oil changes, and the other (right side) I just left off when I install the NBV highway pegs. While I never really had a huge heat issue with the...

    Great price for Spyder luggage!

Bag looks awesome--I went to buy one and it's $16.00 shipping. Why does shipping always have to ruin such a good price? I've bought lots of stuff from these guys and they are an awesome company to do business with. Guess maybe I"ll just buy more stuff so I can get the free shipping!!! LOL

    bottom pan

I took mine off my 2012 RT as soon as I got it. I think I saw that Lamonster did his too. No ill effects at all--helps with oil changes. Also put on the block off plate and I have NO heat issues at all. The block off plate helps to keep the heat off my foot when using the NBV pegs.

Anyone Ride Year Round in Northern Climates?

I live here in Western New York State (you all have heard about the snow here in Buffalo???). I do ride all winter long--but not the Spyder. Too much road salt, slush, and crazy drivers to take the beloved Spyder out of the heat, warm garage for that. Instead I have a KLR 650 (dual sport)...

    Waxing the Spyder

After a ride when the bike is covered with suicidal bug splats, I just take a nice clean rag and soak it in warm/hot water. Then lay the rag on the dead bugs for a few seconds and they wipe right off with almost no rubbing needed. Then clean and wax with your favorite product--me--I use pledge...

    Winter battery maintenance

Mine is stored in an unheated garage as well. I just hook up a Battery Tender through the 12V outlet in the trunk. Works great and the battery is ready to go as soon as the spring riding season starts.

    2013 RT Heat Issue - Also Exists With 2010, 2011 & 2012 RT?

Well, I have a 2012--not 2013. However, I removed both bottom plastic panels to help reduce the heat (also makes oil changes easier). When I put on the forward cruising pegs, I was getting a hot right foot--so I also put on the Sypderpops block off plate. Now--i rarely have any heat issues...
