• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone using Rain/storage covers? Which covers?

The rain can have a effect on the trike - at least on some of the modules. I had a left side control module fail due to exposure to rain. I carry a Guardian Cover. Honestly its over-adequate for the job - great rain protection and excellent winter storage cover. Kinda of bulky as a...

    Daytona Bike Week

Might go back down for Bike Week. I will be there for the Rolex 24 at the end of the month.

Using old phone with BRP connect

Depends on the application that you are using and how its being used. I have had pretty good success with Genius Maps and a secondary phone without a cell plan. It is a good offline mapping tool. However there are caveats - the first and most important is to be sure that you actually have the...

Juuuust missed hitting a Deer! Great brakes on these things!

Glad you missed them. Here we have the usual whitetails and the dogs sized Sika. This time of the year the whitetails are coming out of every corn field every morning and evening. The Sika are more anti-social. I do not see them very often. However, just recently while riding through a...

Concealed carry on a RT - which holster?

To the original question - concealed carry on an RT. For me just depends on what I am wearing that day. I can comfortably carry in the rear waistband, ankle, inside the jacket (vented or leather) or I have a "tank bag" if for some strange reason I want it "with me" but "not on me". Why do I...

    Surprised on recent ride

Over the last week my wife and I decided that we wanted to spend some time away from where we live and get away. We decided to go camping and riding in West Virginia. It has been a while since I have been in West Virginia and geez - it was absolutely beautiful. Just a landscape that I could...

    Dragon or Rattler?

I am from the area and ride them all when I am home. I like them all but as stated before the Dragon has been so commercialized that it is actually crowded at times. Not to mention the occasional tractor trailer that decides it is a short cut ... even though they need someone to literally walk...

    Fuel Mileage

I always find this conversation interesting - regardless of vehicle. There are many factors that come into play from your practice of how you fill your tank (do you always top it off or do you stop when it cuts off), how much reserve is there, what is the temp (yes that matters, your plastic...

    Helmet shapes?

Excellent points and thanks for the helmet guide link Pete. Our melons, I mean heads, come in a variety of sizes and shapes. IMO helmets need to be tried on for fit and comfort. I have three different modular helmets - three manufactures - three different sizes and three completely different...

Spyder mods after a back injury

I too suffer from chronic pain in my neck and thoracic back. I have had multiple neck, shoulder, arm and hand surgeries in attempts to relieve the pain from the nerve damage. Now on to riding .... Like so many, I left the two wheeled world for three. For me, from a Harley VROD to Spyder RTL...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

Aero on this beast is really a study in drag. Into the wind you can feel the drag and seemingly see the fuel gauge go down. Wind at your back... feels like the rear cases and windscreen act as sail to provide trust. As a side note - I actually live off of US 50 - near the eastern end. My son...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

I actually forgot there was "ECO Mode." Isn't that just the button the make the annoying warning banners go away ;). In reviewing the most gas used or should I say re-filled, has been about 5.2G. That would mean there is more miles in the tank. But then again 5.2G has meant 180 miles or 150...

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

Peteoz, I would believe that 100%. My high-speed cruises are definite gas hogs - I find myself watching the gas gauge as much as the road after a while. And - thanks to everyone that has answered. It is interesting to hear what others are experiencing.

1330 and Gas Mileage Review - What's yours? Anyone else tracking theirs?

I have been called many things before but one the best was "Stat-Nazi." I have a love for data and information that can be derived from that. With that preface, I have been collection data from every fuel stop that has been made with my 2018 RTL. Trip length, total mileage, cost per gallon...

    Motorcycle Pet Carriers/Dog backpack carriers

Darren, The Kuryakyn Palace is a must. While ryding through the Dales don't forget to protect those eyes. We have used both Rex Specs (https://www.rexspecs.com) and Doggles (https://woof.doggles.com). We also had leather bomber helmet for our four-legged ryder. Just as a side note -...

    BRP Connect issues

I have been setting on the sidelines watching this brew so to speak. I am a 2018 RTL owner that also does not understand BRP's half-baked integration of the Bosch mySpin system. I do not understand the partnership of Bosch, BRP and the selected software that is approved in this case...

    2019 Carolina Spyder Rally

I have been planning on making the trek to Carolina Spyder Rally this May - then making my way a little north through WNC and TN. BUT then wouldn't you know it ... schedule conflict. Warbirds Over The Beach - Virginia Beach is the same weekend. Hmmm, usually rains on any airshow MAM puts on...

    Concept and custom spiders

Personally I would love to see someone do a custom Spyder. I am not one of those "I will just leave it as they made it people." If it could only be as nice as some of the VROD customs I have seen ... I would gladly throw cash at it.

Hope BRP are reading our threads and listens (WAKE UP BRP REPRESENTATIVES)

Pete - source has been very reliable to date. The way that I actually got to the information was through a very heated exchange over the failure of the left hand control module on my RT, the subsequent dealing with BRP and the long round-and-round that followed. I told him that if he was a...
