• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Looking at Running/Fog Lights - Which do you recommend? Which LED & Fog Light kit?

Hi Bert. I'm in agreement on the lower Kelvin temperature rated lights... but they are hard to find as the marketing world has convinced the unknowing buyer that the high Kelvin temperature lights (those glaring white to bluish lights) are the best. They provide a lot of glare for oncoming...

    Nitpicking the 2024 RT

The new larger screen looks like a big improvement over the previous version. Now if they would just delete those stupid speakers flanking the screen, they could make the display even bigger so that it might be more useful as a GPS/Navigation display, especially if the Car Play features now work...

Is an Aerostich suit the way to go? Or not?

Hi Dasmoetorhead. There was a lot of good opions and information added in the posts above. Seems like a lot of Spyder riders have top shelf riding gear, some of which, is from their earlier days riding on two wheels. Somewhere in the 2010 timeframe, I made a trip to Duluth, MN to visit...

    Front Sprocket Correction at Dealership

So where is the Loctite 603 or 609 applied? I am assuming it is on the threads of the bolt that secures the sprocket to the countershaft, with the subsequent torque to spec. What goes on the spines now? It was formerly a high-moly-content paste. It this still the case with the replacement...

Spyder radio is worthless - any solution to this problem?

I NEVER use nor do I ever intend to use the radio on my 2021RTL. To me it is a waste of money and dash space that could have either saved me the $$, or, been put to use on a better dash and display with Apple Play or Google Play... If I do want to listen to the radio, it will be through a...

Being seen as a safety factor - here's what I've done!

Hi Xwingnut, Those Clearwater LEDs look nice and they are close to, if not at the top of the highest quality aftermarket driving lights available to the motorcycle world. Can't say for the Spyder with low driving lights, but those lights mounted on the forks of a motorcycle really stand out...

Burning Smell - New Belt Tensioner

My 2021 RTL has the stock BRP belt tensioner as it was factory installed. It is still seemingly OK at 8500 miles...but I have a new Lamonster tensioner assembly on the shelf and will replace the factory tensioner with the Lamonster version if I ever get the time to replace the worn out OEM...

Looking for ideas to haul/trailer an RT and an HD?

I have trailered the older RS/GS as well as my 21 RTL on 78 inch wide x 10 ft long single axle trailer I mainly use for moving ZTR lawnmowers, etc. This trailer has a bed height of approximately 17 inches, give or take when level and a 52 inch tall full width drive on tailgate ramp. As...

Anyone know what size RT airbag coupler I need?

What does one have to disconnect, electrically, when the time comes to eliminate the compressor and the auto ride height adjustment on a 2021 RTL? Mine is fine now...but it seems that many have problems with time. A schrader valve connected directly to the air bag would be simple, cheap, and...

Where can I get a new Key cut?

If it is an expensive transponder key, I would be hesitant to have the local hardware store do the cut as the level of experience and knowledge varies greatly depending on who is on shift at a given time. I think it is much safer to go to a proper locksmith shop as you are more likely to get...

    Review: 5 thousand mile review, 2022 RT-L.

Hi blacklightning. I have a 2021 RTL...and am happy with it and find it comfortable except in really hot and humid weather, where the wind protection is too good. Your comment on "3 locations to adjust the radio volume" was well received by me. My question is Why does CanAm think we need a...

Question for the RT owners - what's a mint '19 RTL worth?

Hi Old Timer, I totally understand what you are saying. I'm only "67", but with aches and pains and knees going south way faster than I would like, I do understand that the time to play is definitely limited. Plus I'm still working so that eats up the majority of my time. The economy: who...

Question for the RT owners - what's a mint '19 RTL worth?

Hi Old Timer, Beautiful R12GS!! Those are a really nice bike and the water cooled boxer motors are amazing with LOTS of smooth power in any gear at nearly any rpm. I have taken three different test rides and really liked the water cooled GS. I have a 2021 RTL as well as a 2009 GS. Can Am...

Why did BRP remove the turn signals from the mirrors on the 2020 & up RT ?

I completely agree with what Ron said above about visibility being so critical a motorcycle, or in this case, the Spyder. I noted this last summer seeing my son making an oncoming turn on my 2021RTL. It was in bright sunlight and while he had the turn signals on, the fender-mounted front turn...

Are there any Spyder rental options in Central California?

While not a Spyder rental in California, I was in Gatlinburg, TN several months ago on a family trip and saw at least three rental places that had multiple Polaris Slingshots, and also Side by Side UTVs. I have two Spyders, but thought i would stop and check out the prices and terms on the...

    Looking for hand guard options

Hi Pjveetwin and RayJB, I sourced and installed a set of Barkbuster, single point, bar-end mounted "Storm" handguards on my 2009 Spyder GS about 5 years ago or so. Was an easy install and provided a decent protection for my hands from the cold windblast on the GS...as it had MUCH less wind...

Finally have to replace a Vredestein rear tire.

Five years ago, I put a Yokahama S-Drive on the rear of my 2009 Spyder RS/GS. No issues or problems, and it did wear more evenly than the stock Kenda rear tire, but still wore much faster in the center (approx. 20 psi). and lasted somewhere between 11K-12K miles. Seemed to be a better tire...

Electric Windshield adjustment bar broke. Any suggestions?

Hi Ron, You are welcome and, looking closer, I see your kit came with 2 wedges and 3 spacers to use with the wedges when removing the original arm, rather than the three that I mentioned in the original post. These all look useful. Thanks again, Rod

Electric Windshield adjustment bar broke. Any suggestions?

Interesting thread and several good options to replace what appears to be "Not IF it breaks but WHEN it breaks" stock adjustable windscreen arm on the Spyder RTs. I have a 2021 RTL with 8800 miles and the stock arm is still intact, I think. But reading about the many Spyder owners who had the...

    First ride today

My son bought a 2009 Spyder GS about 6-7 years ago when he was living in Minnesota. He brought it down to my place in Kansas for the winter as he did not have a place to store it inside...and I did. So of course, I started riding the 2009GS Spyder and enjoyed driving it, especially with my...
