• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Woo Hoo New LED Headlights

I received a set of Lamonster's LED headlights for Christmas. Mechanically I'm marginal but have been into the Spyder deep enough to install the Longhorn run/turn lights which involves getting to the headlight connections. Any words of wisdom from those that have done the install? I've...

    Electrical Issues

2013 RT-S, SM5. Added LEDs: Spyderpops RTB rear lights with flasher and A arm running lights, Longhorn RT lights on the mirrors, rear trunk lights with 12V push on/off switch. I left the rear trunk light on by accident for a couple of days, and drained the battery. Per the manual, hooked up...

    Washing a Spyder

I've used one of those do it yourself pressure wash a dozen times or more with no problems. I don't spray the seat, handlebars or instrument panel sections for obvious reasons. Afterwards I go for a ten minute ride to blow off most of the water, then finish up any spots by hand if needed...

Wires on the 12V plug in the trunk

And it has an on/off switch. You will need to move a fuse to make it constantly hot. Directions on the fuse come with it. Literally a 2 min job to change. I've got one and love it. Bob

    Spare key

I never leave the house without a spare key. I keep it locked in the rear trunk, and have an unchipped key hidden on the bike that I can get to without tools in case I lose the ignition key, some disassembly required ;). When off the bike the ignition key is on a carabiner on a belt loop...

    Indians new reverse trike!

Couldn't agree more. I've gotta think that a purpose built frame and suspension is going to handle better than a front suspension grafted onto an existing two wheel frame. That said, I'm glad to see a major manufacturer experimenting with a reverse trike. Bob

Problem with Spyderpops Longhorn Run/Turn LED's

Pulled the mirror and it was simply the loose connection. Because these are run AND turn signal there are actually 2 connections, one for power connected in off the fog light and the second for the turn signal itself. What threw me was there was a faint glow from the strip. Bob

Problem with Spyderpops Longhorn Run/Turn LED's

Installed the Longhorn run/turn lights about a month ago. No significant problems with the install other than the learning curve on first time panel removal. Only problem I had was pulling one of the wires from the spade connector going to the mirror assembly on the right side. I reinserted...

    Kumho rear tire air pressure?

My stomach starts to churn a bit at the thought of running 11-12 psi on them. I have visions of the tire rolling off the rim on a fast sweeper. Actually I find myself taking known curves a bit faster on the Spyder than I did on my 1700 Nomad. Of course that may be more due to...

    Kumho rear tire air pressure?

I'm assuming that the 4psi rule does not apply to the OEM Kenda front tires. I'm at 14K on the original front Kendas on my new to me 13 RTS. 10 K of that is mine. I'm running 15-16 cold on the fronts and typically see a 1.5-2.0 psi increase after a long ride. Cant see reducing the pressure...

    Justice is Served

No, he didn't. Robbery is not a capitol offense. If you were sitting on HIS jury would you sentence him to death? By applauding her actions that is essentially what you are doing. Hell, even in Saudi Arabia he would just lose a hand. We are a nation of laws, and when we start ignoring those...

    Justice is Served

I have a concealed carry permit and am rarely unarmed. As a result I am quite familiar with KY laws regarding use of deadly force. Without getting too detailed I can legally use deadly force against an imminent threat, otherwise, no. A robber who is running away from me with my wallet and...
