• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any idea where to service a 2008 Spyder GS SM5 in the Phoenix area?

Any idea where to service a 2008 Spyder GS SM5 in the Phoenix area? I only know of the Ride Now in Chandler (usual place) and Ride Now Peoria that will touch a "More than 10 year old" Spyder. I think I'm having trouble with the ECM. Tech in Chandler warned me awhile ago that it was getting...

    Belt replacement mileage

I have a 2008 that only has 20K on it. Bought it 5 years ago an it had 9K on it then. As a desert dweller, we replace tires every three years due rto heat and dry rot potential. I keep the bike 100% covered when not out on it. I have it the belt inspected ebeverytime I have it in for service...

    Wearing hearing aids with helmet

I take mine out and put them in a little box and wear earplugs while riding. I'm trying to blunt as much wind noise as possible to keep what little hearing I have.

Bike wont start, showing VSS/Brake failure fault

Bike started, moved to driveway to warm up. Stopped it while kitting up. Went to restart. Nada. Not in gear, battery was juiced. Tried to jump it anyway, still nada. Showing VSS/Brake failure fault. Pushed it back into the yard and started looking at the bike. Battery good. What I did notice...

    Taller Windshield

My 2008 GS SM5 had the tall windshield when I bought it 4 years ago. It keeps the wind from using my broad shoulders as a sail when I'm running at freeway speeds. Couldn't even think of riding without it in front of me. It doesn't "buffet" my ride at all. Mike

Unable to unlock seat on my 2011 LRSS

Once I finally got mine to open... I unscrewed the post so that it never happens again. If your frunk doesn't open, there is the cable you can pull from the left wheel well. No such animal for the seat. I'm sure someone will tell me why this shouldn't be done. But, no more issues. The...

I went to ride today (It will be in the high 80's through Thanksgiving here in Central Arizona). Perfect weather to run out to the lakes and tool through some twistys and enjoy life. Unfortunately, I've been busy lately and hadn't ridden in over a month and :yikes:my Spyder was dead! I...

What Insurance Coverages Do You have!

Coverage Make sure you also sign up for American Motorcycle Association membership. You get 35 miles of free towing along with it. My Allstate policy only provides for 15 miles. It more than paid for itself the one time my Spyder broke down and had to be towed 32 miles! :riding:

    riding in the heat

ATGATT in Phoenix! If you hit asphalt on a day where it's 118 degrees, you melt like butter skimming across a griddle. I wear heat out base layers from Cycle Gear and Iron Worker Kevlar Jeans and a Mesh Jacket. I wear a full face modular and put a wet Cool Wrap around my neck. I put a...

    AMA American Motorcyclist Ass.

I joined AMA at the suggestion of a friend years ago. I never needed the Roadside Assistance until last Friday when I broke down on the AZ 101 Northbound at the University Drive Exit at 1:30 in the afternoon (bikes thermostat said it was 97 degrees in the shade). I called AMA and they...

I'm so tired of idiots of not seeing me and turning in front of me..

FIRST, I agree that the best Offense is a great Defense.:doorag: With that in mind I was in one of the first 3-Wheel Basic Ridercourse Safety Classes that :firstplace:TEAM Arizona Motorcyclist Training Centers offered when I bought my Spyder. I practice ample space between my bike and the cars...

I'm so tired of idiots of not seeing me and turning in front of me..

:yikes:My 2008 ST SM5 only has the stock headlights and fender lights on it. I've been reading the postings on this sight for the last two years and want to "light it up". I'm going to rely upon those of you more adventurous types to give me some direction on what types of lighting you have...

    Pet Name "Sandra"

Sandra seems like a good name to me. You should call your bike and car anything you want. I personally don't name my vehicles, but my wife does. She refers to my '08 ST SM5 as "It". As in , "I can't believe you bought It". "I can't believe you won't sell It". "I can't believe your going...
