• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Brake problem — scratching my head

Took my ‘14 RTL to a dealer for its annual and a brake problem that started recently. I noticed that the Spyder was pulling to the left during hard braking (which happens frequently here in FL this time of year). After waiting for four hours I was told that the left front brake was inoperative...

    Air Force's new attack plane

One thing I noticed immediately is the aircraft is a turboprop. Turbine engines don’t respond immediately to throttle input, they have to spool up. Would be at a disadvantage against an enemy with an afterburner.

Hold On folks it may get bumpy

Not an easy approach by any estimation but the hardest part was aligning with the runway. If the winds are too high you run out of rudder. That’s why every aircraft has a published maximum crosswind component. That’s why he quickly planted the bird on the runway as soon as he lined up. That’s...

Electric company SJW snowflakes are trying to shame me

People shout “environmental paranoia” when an electric utility cautions them about their bill, and I’m sure there is some truth to that. But a much bigger issue is the deteriorating situation of the US power grid. It was built many years ago in most areas, and upgrades are few and far between...

    insurance for drone

Just curious how a homeowners policy protects the pilot from damage caused by a drone, which was part of the OP’s question? I understand that it can cover the aircraft itself. This discussion is only relevant to hobbyist flyers. I doubt any homeowners policy will cover a commercial drone.

    insurance for drone

I use Verifly but I need commercial insurance as I am flying for hire under Part 107. AMA isn’t a bad deal for hobbyists. AOPA insurance offers coverage either way. There are also companies out there offering UAV coverage. It all depends on what you want.

An option if you lack electric for battery charging

Thank you for being the person who understood my message. The other advice can be useful in different situations, but not mine. Solar might be an option eventually but I’m hoping the riding will resume soon.

An option if you lack electric for battery charging

To clarify, I will be using the jumper intermittently. I have no intention of leaving it on the bike, covered or not. I am hoping a few hours now and then will keep the Spyder battery topped off. I’m just trying to overcome the parasitic battery drain over time.
