• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

insurance for drone

Your drone is personal property, and would be insured for damage or loss that is caused by any covered peril, that applies to your personal property.
You could probably add a clause to your policy that provides for a wider range of instances where coverage will apply. Ask your insurance agent for specifics.
Good luck!

I use Verifly but I need commercial insurance as I am flying for hire under Part 107. AMA isn’t a bad deal for hobbyists. AOPA insurance offers coverage either way. There are also companies out there offering UAV coverage. It all depends on what you want.

BOB, which policy are you talking about so i can mention to my agent?

Homeowners...
Or even a Tenant Homeowners...

Just curious how a homeowners policy protects the pilot from damage caused by a drone, which was part of the OP’s question? I understand that it can cover the aircraft itself.

This discussion is only relevant to hobbyist flyers. I doubt any homeowners policy will cover a commercial drone.

Hey bob, my agent just called back & said yes i am covered but not for theft or damage to drone. my main worry is to others, people or vehicles.
Hey everyone bob does really know insurance & bacon.
