• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Garmin Zumo XT - how readable; mountable; & lockable are they?

The XT has a very bright screen, much better than earlier models - especially the 595 which was among the worst. And the XT most definitely has a USB port through which you can do updates and file transfers in addition to WiFi. USB works perfect on windows computers but is wonky on Macs (I use...

    DESS Key code again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lew, when I read your post, I was thinking Monster might be a great upgrade for performance and to eliminate the DESS. I called Wick-It, the US Monster agent, and was told their upgrade cannot disable the DESS. I was hoping but no dice - so I'm replying for others to know Monster/Wick-It is NOT...

Looking at buying Garmin Zumo 660, 590, or XT

I have a Zumo 595 with both motorcycle and car mounts that I’ll sell for $225 delivered in the 48 states. Unit is in excellent working and cosmetic condition with a 1 year old battery. Includes mounts, power cables, 595, manuals, original box. I’m only selling because I was gifted a Zumo XT.

Is your spyder shaking, start with the belt tensioner. Now on to Tires!

While reading this it’s not clear to me what’s been checked regarding the rear tire, hub, bearings. From your descriptions you’ve done a lot with the fronts - but the rear? Surely sounds like a defective rear tire, cushions, or assembly process. Especially if it’s a shake vs. vibration. If only...

    The Killing Zone

To me crossing the center line is either a sloppy riding attitude or poor skills - very bad “habit” to get into. Once in a great while we all do - but is best considered an error.

    First zumo trip...

I keep my Zumo on “prompted” so I know when it’s about to go amuck! I choose “do not recalculate” and then go to change route (lower right on Zumo) where you can “skip” a missed via point.

    First zumo trip...

One likelihood is that all of your preferences are not set the same in both Basecamp and the Zumo. The preferences I’m referring to are: fastest vs. shortest route, avoidances, map versions, and Zumo operating system updates. What you’re describing indicates that there may be differences in your...

    love the zumo xt

Just a heads up. I’m using Basecamp on a MAC, just updated to Big Sur and Basecamp freezes up. The workaround from Garmin at this time is to only use 3D view - that works. Or hold off upgrading Mac OS.

    Sad day.

A wheel alignment check by a qualified shop might be a good check to reveal any damage. Especially if it was previously laser aligned, and particularly with the way it landed on the rear wheel.

    Understeering in curves

Entering a turn on the outside of the lane is exactly right (as much as you can on a Spyder without crowding the centerline). Plus this method gives a bit more visibility to what’s around the turn!

    F3 total failure

I have a 2014 RTS 1330 that had check engine light on due to code P 0172. In shop 5 times, changed purge valve, fuel pump/regulator, throttle bodies, injectors to no avail. They’d repair then code would re-appear 200-300 miles later. Finally BRP assisted dealer tech and they found valve timing...

Can someone point me to what the RT Nanny codes?

I had that code (P0172) a few years ago on my 2014 RTS. Ended up being cam timing which required fixtures from the factory to correct. Took 5 service visits before finally fixed but it’s been good ever since. Before finding the cause dealer replaced numerous parts including purge valve, fuel...

Zumo XT will not connect with Garmin Basecamp

I use Mac OS Catalina (on a MacBook Air)and Basecamp with my Zumo 595LM regularly, never a problem connecting or transferring routes.

    Broken bolt extraction

Well you may not be happy with what you did, but how it broke brings some better news. It’s likely the threads are not the problem ie: locktite or corrosion. So I’d go with the reverse drilling (carefully centered). The heat from drilling might loosen any locktite. If it doesn’t come out while...

Anyone tried Mobil 1 10W40 Full Synthetic Oil?

The rebate check I received was from O’Reilly’s bank in Clinton, IA so I’d be leary about using the form elsewhere.
