• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Heat Issue Problem Solved?

Try wrapping the header pipes with pipe wrap. You can get it from any speed shop. It helps reduce the radiant heat coming from the pipes and allows the pipe to do what they are suppose to, push exhaust heat out the tail pipe. It does reduce the under panel heat. It takes time to do about 2-3...

    FRUSTRATED

The signals will autocancel as several others have said. The left panel coming off may have been the hook is either not there (early build models) or the hook was not properly set when the panel was installed. The antenna should be put on with a drop of blue loctite. If you lost or damged...

I Had No Clutch Today !

The system really does not have much fluid in them. It is quite feasable that the fluid level was fine at the service. We did have one that the assist piston was worn and it caused the fluid to leak out quite quickly. Because everything is closed up the customer saw no visibile leaks but did...

    RT SM5 Clutch Problem...big time

After reviewing your post again, I think you have warpped clutch plates. Hopefully your dealer has figured this out by now.

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

The noise is the computer keeping the throttlr shutter closed. The issue last year was that hot air was entering the air box after shut down via the throttle body bores. Buy allowing the computer to keep the shutters closed it keeps the temps down in the air box, allowing for easier hot...

    Faults on a new 2011 RT-S

Make sure the dealer activated the CB with BUDS. There is also a cluster reflash that came out last week (probably after they took delivery). They should also check the switch on the rear cargo cover. I can not remember if it's adjustable or not. If there is still a cluster issue they may want...

    RS-S 2011 new injector?

I verified the specs with our specification sheets from BRP service. Both the RS Std & RS-S have the 57mm throttle body. What is listed above is deffinately a typo.

Tire Wear Issue - Possible Alignment problem

BRP did issue and Service Bulletin about uneven tire wear. This is a normal wear pattern. This is due to the geometry of the suspension & road conditions (natural arc in the road). To get longer life out of the tires you can rotate them off the rims. This will gain you longer tire life.

    Recall the Recall?

Very balmy 55 this morning. Fall is coming. It could be a bad SAS. I have had to replace a few of them.

    Recall the Recall?

They may have not reset the Steering Angle Sensor (SAS) properly. If this is not done with the steering in the straight ahead position then it WILL throw the vehicle into limp home mode. It's very easy to fix, they really just have to drive the vehicle straight ahead, make sure the bars a center...

    RT-S Speakers

That's odd I have yet to have anyone complain about the quality of the sound. Have you checked your audio settings? I have had people who own GoldWings say the sound quality coming from the Spyder is far Superior.

running rough, missing, popping, bad mpg

Yes it could. I would also look at your spark plug wires & plug condition. We have had a few were the spark plug boots would leak and arch to the head. This would cause a weak spark in the engine. The easiest way to check it is remove your panels and start the bike in a dark area, see if you...

    RTS hard to start

Cracking the throttle will ease the hot restart issue. BRP is working on a remap, but it has not come as of yet. It appears to be that the ECU is dumping to much fuel during hot restart. Opening the throttle slightly will open the throttle valve allow more air to flow through the intake. It is a...

    Back to Service Again

Have your dealer perform a pressure test on the cooling system. It's fairly easy. We have had quite a few tanks that have cracked. We have replaced them under warranty. The crack is very hard to see and almost looks like a seam line. I have also seen a few of the hose clamps loosen over time...

    RT Battery Died

You may have a bad battery. Just one word of advice. If you are turning the bars alot (when stopped) you will put higher amperage demand to the DPS. If you don't run it up to speed then the battery can not recover from the amperage loss. I'm not saying that this is your issue, just giving some...

    Brake noise

It is normal. What you are hearing is the ABS solenoid clicking. Very similar to cars except it's located where you can actually hear. On a car is outside the passenger compartment.

    Parking Brake Failure

Check that the cable is attached on the rear caliper. If it does not move when you engage the brake make sure that the cable is on the pulley. The pulley is located on the RH side of the vehicle. You will have to remove the panels to see it.
