• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Going out of Business

Spyderlovers, I just wanted to let everyone here know first that I've decided to discontinue manufacturing the SRT Accessory Mount and cup holder. It's been a great ryde and I've thoroughly enjoyed being a sponsor here. But, due to personal commitments, I simply don't have the time to continue...

    Cutting thru metal like butter

:bowdown::bowdown: Awesome video. Had to watch it in another room---my baby would be jealous!

This retirement thing, not sure of it.

Joe, you could do like a coworker of mine who's getting ready to retire---start doing some mechanic work. His first job: Putting a rear end in a recliner:thumbup:

    New BRP Sky-Doo

Heard once if you lost power at night to aim for the darkest spot you can find---it will be either an open field or a forest. Then turn the landing lights on at about 200 ft. If you don't like what you see, turn them back off!

    3D Printing-Anyone here have experience?

My son said the one he saw was a Makerbot. I looked at their mini version, and although its a little more than I wanted to spend, I haven't crossed it off the list. I just don't like the idea of having to order the filament directly from them. Most other printers use generic filament for...

    3D Printing-Anyone here have experience?

I'm looking more at the hobby grade machines such as the Solidoodle or Printrbot. These can be had for well under a grand. I realize anything in this price range is not going to give stellar results, but I'm basically looking for something fun to play with that could give me some decent...

    3D Printing-Anyone here have experience?

Last week, my son got to watch a 3D printer in action at a school science fair and he was fascinated. I'll admit, I've kicked around the idea of getting one for a while. It would really help me out in prototyping operations, plus they're just plain cool! It seems there are many different...

    Locked myself out of computer

Once in safe mode, I still had to go thru the log on page. How exactly do you reset the password in safe mode?

    Locked myself out of computer

I'm in! Thanks guys. Roger, your link worked. I do have a system repair disk and was able to change the password through the command prompt. Next up: creating a password recovery disk in case I get into this again:2thumbs:

    Locked myself out of computer

Yesterday I decided to restore my Dell desktop with Windows 7 to an earlier state using Norton Ghost. Unfortunately, I didn't have the foresight to write down the user password when I created the restore point about a year and a half ago :banghead:. I do have another usable computer with which...

    Any RC folks here?

Very fun and expensive hobby. Got into it about 8 years ago, but haven't flown much in the last 2. I started out with the Super Cub and finally worked up to a 1/4 scale Edge 540 with a 30cc gas engine. Wanted to go up to a 50cc plane but couldn't make myself fork out the dough:shocked...

    Fire Wasps

Yep. Yellow Jackets are some mean little :cus:'s. At least once a year I'll stir up a nest while mowing. The bite hurts almost as bad as the sting. I just bail off, leave the mower beside the hole and go back after dark with a gas can. A little 87 octane down the hole always does the trick...

    Acceleration

Read an article about this a couple of years ago (Popular Mechanics, I think). If I remember correctly, it takes around 700hp just to run the supercharger and the clutch plates get so hot they're welded together after the run. Oh, and the pit crew has it all rebuilt in 45 minutes! Pretty darn...

    REMOTE CONTROLLED F-16 INTERESTING

Man, you really spent some time and money on that bird! Bet it was a blast to watch fly, though. The biggest I ever got was a 30cc 1/4 scale Edge 540. What little I fly now is heli's in the back yard.

    REMOTE CONTROLLED F-16 INTERESTING

I used to fly rc (still have the planes, just no time to play with them). A couple of guys in our club had turbine powered jets. Those are some awesome planes to watch. One would burn thru 50 oz of kerosene in 4 minutes!

    Guess what, folks?

Better accuracy rate than some of our local meteorologists. :gaah:

    seriously?

It was almost 60 up here in the foothills Monday. With the wind chill, its supposed to be 9 in the morning. But looks like the snow is going to miss us. My parents just retired and moved down from NJ to Swansboro- said they were looking forward to mild winters. Think I'll call to see how...
