• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

REMOTE CONTROLLED F-16 INTERESTING

They've been doing this for many years with retired aircraft. Wish they would have had a camera on the console and controls.

Hard to believe that they could develop that much technology before Bob could even get his new Spyder.

If it seems expensive to "kill' one of them ; what if that expense allows for better training, and THAT saves a life, of one of our own??

Amazing..!!

this is one super drone...now the question is will it shot back or is just a dead duck out there. Have to agree though useful it is a sad ending for a great flying machine...:dontknow:

I said the same thing about my F4 when they painted it's tail orange and shot it down with an AIM 9M.

The F16 is a beautiful bird, and by far my favorite. I built a true scale radio controlled 1/5 scale model using a ducted fan for power. All fiberglass complete with scale retracts and in the Red White and Blue colors. She was easy to fly but need more run way what club had so I had to add breaks and even then it barely stopped before the end of the runway.

I used to fly rc (still have the planes, just no time to play with them). A couple of guys in our club had turbine powered jets. Those are some awesome planes to watch. One would burn thru 50 oz of kerosene in 4 minutes!

Yes, the turbines are the bomb, lol... not literally. I built one with a turbine but sold it before I test flew it. That happened a lot, lol... It was a great plan, I designed an air over hydraulic system so the landing gear came down true scale and would not fold up if they they did not lock down all the way. I also designed my own disc break system for the gear to slow it down. I seen it fly once and man... it was fast! I came down the run way at 225 by radar but he had to get it low so he did not push it all the way open!

Those were the days, lol...

Man, you really spent some time and money on that bird! Bet it was a blast to watch fly, though. The biggest I ever got was a 30cc 1/4 scale Edge 540. What little I fly now is heli's in the back yard.
