• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Traffic in and around Atlanta !!!

Atlanta? Nah, try Austin, TX I agree that over the years, Atlanta traffic has become a bad dream, but Austin, TX is a virtual nightmare. Any time of the day or night, they are there. Any section of the city, they are there. Any mode of conveyance, they are there. I firmly believe that if you...

Ramps to allow you to work on your Spyder

I have an old lawnmower lift and I extended the lift-arms with pieces of old bed rails and 5/16" bolts. The front wheels easily drive right onto the wheel locks. The actual jack is a little small for the job, but keep pumping and it gets it done. Works like a champ for the front end. No so with...

    Ultimate seat - issue

Gets awfully hot down here in Texas. Use a simple old fashioned "cool Cushion" like you did when you were 15 in your old 49 Ford 2 door. Just tie it down and you are home free with a cooler bootie. No sliding.

Avoiding Road Hazards on 3 Wheels?

It is simple for me. I ride behind my wife. If she sees something that needs to be avoided and takes corrected action, then I make the needed adjustments for my spyder. She has a Suzuki C90 Trike so we are both riding on three wheels.

Looking for WWII and Korean War Veterans

My Daddy was a machine gunner during WWII. He hit the beach in Italy and walked most of the way and fought all the way to the Bulge and then on in to Berlin, Germany. He was wounded at the Bulge and with a severe head wound was wrapped up and sent back to the front lines. He was later awarded...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Ole Stump. From a distance the leaning of the front end looks kinda like a stump (kinda like a drubbed out stump) that has been pushed over by a tornado some years back and got discolored by the Sun.

    This one terrific forum

Thanks to Bajaron and Bob Denman, I solved the "Klunking" noise in the front end of my STS-SE5. As both tried to convince me, it was, in fact, loose parts in the front end. Bob had me testing every nut and bolt and Bajaron gave me specific and detailed instructions on how to pull the frunk...

    Sway Bar removal.

Sway bar removalSorry, got this entangled in another post. Here it is again. OK, old post-new post, I am putting this post out for advice. Been talking to Bob Denman re a klunking sound coming from the front end of my 2013 STS SE5. And yes, I have checked every nut and bolt I can see and reach...

People wanting to borrow the Spyder. What do you say

People wanting to borrow the Spyder This is a disaster waiting to happen. I don't even let my wife ride my Spyder except as a passenger. She will not let me ride her trike esxcept as a passenger. The liability issues here is so great here that the question is a simple, no. Now would I ever try...

    College Student Writing a Paper

Writing a paper Well, for one thing, I am not overly fond of loud sound barrier cracking motor noises such as many of the regular bikes and even the trikes. I started with a Suzuki 800 which was nice, quite, and not a hellion on the road. Then I went to a VTX 1800 Honda. It popped, bellowed...

Are highway pegs worth the expense?

Depends I guess. For a long, long ride, sure I think it is a definite requirement. For an oldster, yeah. For my STS SE5, there needs to be a little more room for my legs and I am only 5'10". So, for me, I need to stretch a bit. Plus, the plastic panels are only held on by Cleco (Kleco?) fittings...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

Safety Recall Yeah, I know. I have sought help from the forums before and got great advice. I think I even got some from you (good advice , too!). I am just an old codger that can't get down low enough to try some of the suggestions. Hey, like the old saying, "when my butt gets lower than my...

Teach the younger generation some tricks

Teach the younger Generation some tricks 1. Carried water in a two gallon water buckets for cotton choppers at $2.50 per day (one cup on the right side for whites, one of the left for blacks). Hey that was the day when it was not only expected, it was demanded. Shame!) 2. Walked through the...

2013 Can-Am Spyder RT Safety Recall - Elevated Temperature in Engine Compartment

BRP Does Not Care T tried to make contact with BRP on several occasions re some kind of "klunkin" sounds in the front end of my 2013 STS SE5 along with the horrendous heat problem. They don't care. My dealer doesn't care. My wife seems not to care. I care! I am not so angry with BRP as I am...

New Airflow panels for 2013 ST-S

New panels for the ST I have sent numerous emails to them and it seems they have a rotation up there whether or not they are going to give any attention to the problems as they come in. Mine just doesn't seem to hit the right co. Kinda like the lottery. I am not a fan of BRP as you can tell...

    NHTSA investigation update

Spyder heat iss8ues Really?? 'Bout time the NHTSA did something. I have written BRP twice about the heat and other issues on my 2013 ST-SE5 since the beginning of this year and they haven't answered with a single word. It will be so easy for them to get away with their incompetence or...

    Finding dealers out west-------

Google help I carry a list of Canam dealers in each state as I ride there. Old Google can list them for you in a second and another second to print it out. I also look for other BRP dealers such as their water and snow craft, four wheelers, etc. They are more likely able to assist than bike...

    Clunking sound in front end

Thanks Bajaron No...I am not a real mechanical minded person. I am waiting for my bro-in-law to come help me. I have to figure if I need just the links or the sway bar or both. I will be getting in touch with you soon. And by the way...I apologize for my ranting. I am not as hot tempered as I...
