• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Anybody have the monoseat cowl?

I have the seat cowl and like it just fine. There's a guy that sells a fastener kit for it on eBay that's much better than the stock rubber pieces. Much easier to install. Oh yeah I also have the sport rack and they look good together imo.

What I Did To Make My 2009 Spyder RS SM-5 The Ultimate In Performance

I've done the same to mine or similar plus a few more things. A bajaron wire kit and iridium spark plugs and upgraded shocks front and rear should be on the agenda since you've come this far. The only thing I feel my spyder needs now is new tires and laser allignment.

Im gonna be riding one of these in 2 days!

Just marvelous Bob! I switch from the Yamaha to the spyder and its become pretty effortless. Stomp on the brakes! Theyre antilock it don't matter! Nanny is my safety net. No countersteering. Etc, etc. It's a little trickier going from the spyder to the Yamaha. No safety net. Countersteering...

How many of Spyder Riders still ride motorcycles?

I ride both... There's nothing I won't ride. No I don't forget to put my feet down, kickstand up, and turn off my blinker. Well sometimes I leave the blinker to keep people guessing. Bob denman: if I was your son i would not overlook the new yamaha fz-07. 750 cc twin. They are just now starting...

    Can't catch a break

Hang around the forum long enough and you hear a lot about bad purge valves. For a part that just needs to open and close when nanny tells it to I find it hard to believe... More like the entire purge, and vapor collection system is faulty imo. As many purge valves as dealers replace you'd...

    Drew Brees on a Spyder

The drew brees ad looks to be targeting the folks who buy and then park it in the garage for years and only start it up once a month to impress visiting friends. Something to tinker with on the weekends, bolt on a few upgrades and a loud pipe. Maybe go around the block a few times the first...

    Riding in rain?

Oh yes how can I forget the hydroplaning. I can confirm this will happen pretty easily. Happened to me a couple times at freeway speeds. It will get your attention and you will slow down to a more reasonable speed no doubt!

    Cure for scruffy bottom

Those scuffs are normal I think and that's what the plates are for. Spyderpops plate is a super upgrade I highly recomend. Out of all my upgrades I consider it one of the must-haves. I've got just about everything Spyderpops sells for an rs. I love his work.

    Riding in rain?

The spyder is a rain moesheene! Can't think of any better 2 or 3 wheelers that are better handling in the wet. Rode the dragon, devils triangle, rattler, snake, etc, etc all in the rain. Not just rain but constant downpours. No problems to report.

New BRP Sport Rear Fender - Installed

Alright! Got rid of that lobster tail. Somehow the brp tail tidy still looks weird. I did the ninja fender mod and added my mudflap mod to that mod.

    can am tank bag

I have both. Prefer the brp. Fits and looks better. Nelson rigs needed front strap rework to fit correctly.

I hate greasing the front fittings

Yeah it might just be a clearance issue for the 09 models or similar. I know I saw a few posts saying this fitting worked well. After I bought one and tried it I did another search and saw that someone had to grind it down. Regardless this has to be my least favorite maintenance item on the...

    Plastic belt cover

Oh its been mentioned in the archives of this forum. Any search for rear fender removal should provide plenty of mentions as its a well known issue. I will add that the torx head bolts were also a bad idea as any gunk or rust will have you very slow going and risking rounding them out trying to...

I hate greasing the front fittings

Like I said in my other post, be prepared to grind the tip down. I don't know how bajaron did it but in my experience the zerts that really need this fitting also don't have clearance for the extra 1/4 inch or so on the tip.

I hate greasing the front fittings

I went and bought one of these thanks to the advice on this forum but wouldnt ya know the advice left out of most of those threads is that for the zerts that really need this fitting you need to grind the tip down a bit to get the clearance you need. If you have a grinder, great, if your like...

    SPyder on TV

Yeah and thats avoiding commercials. Just goes to show product placement is the real deal and also to be avoided. Time to hit the books again and avoid tv altogether... Except motogp of course... and nfl redzone. Bob youll forget all about that pricetag when you get a load of that 3 cyclinder...

    SPyder on TV

Danny Mcbride rode one the first couple seasons of Eastbound And Down on Showtime or HBO. First time I ever saw a Spyder and had to have one. I figured if that goofball can ride it so can I. I try my best to not watch commercials so I usually watch movie channels or dvr and fastforward through...
