• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Progressive auto for 15 years now, across 3 states (Louisiana, Texas, Florida). i remeber a few times it went up slightly due to rate changes but neve very much. it usually the rates drop every 6 months unless i make a change in address or vehicle. Progressive motorcycle for 3 or 4 years and...

    debating a F3 limited or F3 T for 2 persons

As others said, you would have to ride them for yourself. We can provide our experience but everyone is different. My wife didn't like the seating position on the F3 because it put her slightly higher than me and she didn't want to be in the wind. She prefers the RS because I block all the...

    Affordability

I can understand your position and asked some of the same questions myself. I think a lot of people buy these, as many other toys, and simply do not used them as they expected so you will find a lot of used with low miles. Others have the finances to just replace every few years regardless to...

    Benefits of a Spyder

My Buell carves the corners like nothing else I have ridden but wife won't ride on the back of it so.... Spyder pros: - comfortable 2 up. - more visible. - more stable on interstate, especially in the wind. - can park just about anywhere, including the sand here in FL (most of my yard is sand)...

Spyder RS 2010 rear Luggage Rack

The ones listed above are great but also quite expensive. I was actually looking into this the other day and Google results lead me back here but don't have those links handy at the moment. The cost effective solution is a sport rack, available used, and a givi top box bolted to it. people...

    Traveling to Forida

I find I95 is as or more dangerous than I75, but sometimes the other routes are just too slow with all the lights. Definitely avoid rush hour if possible. A1A is one of my wife's favorite roads. Cannot speak about GA as only used the interstates there traveling to/from TN. Once to FL, can...

    TIRES ????????

Shops are scared of liability because the Spyder falls in the "motorcycle" category. People have and will continue to put auto tires on motorcycles because they want the widest or cheapest tire possible. Motorcycle tires manufactures responded by finally making wider tires but they can be...

    ultra touring windscreens

I do believe there were different part numbers for the touring windshields. There was definitely a slightly different shaped one installed on other Spyders at local dealer. I bought a 2010 RS with a touring shield. It had brackets and you can see them in this BRP link...

    Lithium battery comment...

Lithium batteries require a special charger. Some have reported issues in cold temps also. Others not so tough to know until they become more popular. Using a standard charger could ruin the lithium battery if the charger has automatic desulfation mode. Lot of info on the Internet but just...

    Which model should I consider?

I bought a used 2010 RS because it was in my budget and was expecting the wife to drive it more since it replaced her ninja. It came with touring windshield and adjustable handlebars. I added a BRP comfort seat and Madstad adjustable windshield. It is probably not quite RT comfortable but it...

    RS-S seat question

Corbin, Mustang, and Ultimate are always at Bike Week but that is a year away. OEM - I was hurting after 20 minutes, but I have little to no padding of my own. Corbin - flat and wider, definitely more comfortable, but the wide part made it difficult for my wife to reach the ground if driving...

    F3T

I wanted to compare the riding position because i am not a cruiser fan. As i said above i liked it more than i was expecting. Only F3s, but local dealer has a nice deal on some 2015s, auto or manual, 16k? Http://www.seminolepowersports.com

    F3T

I rode a F3 Limited at bike week demo. It was extremely comfortable, motor was smoother, handled great, and greatly improve throttle response compared to my RS. I liked the radio more than i expected. Also there was NO heat on my legs. I heard the fans cut on and warm breeze but barely. This...

Spyders in the Bayou: Weather/Water Update

This is a good place for road updates: https://www.facebook.com/LouisianaStatePolice/ I grew up there so lots of old friends are sharing their posts about road closures. Be safe out there people. Here is the most recent update: **Interstate 10 Traffic Alert** (Update) **March 16, 2016 at...

Has anyone ordered one of these key fobs?

I found these on another forum or website: http://www.bimmerzone.com/product/AMG-BMW-BMWJ33.html I ordered 2 and they do the job well. I didn't like the oem holder and was always worried my wife would lose the key. I wanted something that would attach to a key ring to also hold my cable lock key.

Thank you Can Am for your Can-Am Spyder Owners' Event at Daytona.

Indeed, the weather was perfect. I was quite impressed with the number of Spyders that were there and the Can Am setup. It was quite funny to see my Spyder sitting there all alone after everyone left for the track. Oddly, 3 different people, all locals, came to ask me about it as I was gearing...

    Bluetooth headsets

Wifi likely disconnects as you exit the driveway but if on, it will be scanning constantly. If you have the open network auto connect on, that will have it connecting and disconnecting all the time. Just better to turn it off when riding. I also tend to turn off as many audible...

    Bluetooth helmet

I got a BT helmet in 2010. It was around $200 at the time. Cheap and noisy helmet. BT worked decently and with my wife getting a matching one later we could even get .25+ mile range between them. Mine started acting up and had weird electrical noises from time to time. It would also auto...
