• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyder running hot with Hindle and Evoluzione O2 modifier

Update from South Texas Suzuki I just got a call from South Texas Suzuki on my problem. The technician did a search and apparently, my VIN series was eligible for a voluntary recall several years back for an optional cooling fan upgrade and my VIN had never been updated. He ordered the part...

Spyder running hot with Hindle and Evoluzione O2 modifier

Ok, I've always thought that the plastic around the Spyder makes them run a bit hotter than I'd like, but then again, I live in Texas where it's still hot out. When I swapped out the stock pipe for the Hindle, I also installed the SpyderPops Missing Air Dam and I noticed that the Spyder ran much...

    Corbin Seats Feedback

I have the Corbin seats with dual back rests and love them a lot. I also had a problem with the driver back rest coming loose. My solution was simply to put some lock tite on it and it has been solid ever since.

    Prescription Sunglasses

I got tired of riding with prescription glasses, let alone prescription sunglasses. Went Lasik at the age of 51 and love being able to get whatever pair of regular sunglasses you like. It was well worth it.

A new world record. Sort of....

You guys are the best! Thanks for all the positive words.:ohyea: That's why I love this place! I'll have to look into the software update. I just had the dealer service it and do all outstanding bulletins. Hmm.

A new world record. Sort of....

Ok, this morning on the way to work I finally broke 5,000 miles on my Spyder. The world record is how long it took. I picked it up in July 2008 and just crossed 5K this morning. I ride it nearly every day to work but I only live 3.9 miles from work. On the plus side, it has been garage kept at...

    Flying Spyders

Wanted to prove to myself after 20 years in Air Force that I could learn to fly. Finished ground school and took lessons at the local Aero Club in Cessna 172s up through solo, cross country, night flights, etc. Passed the FAA written and was up to practical standards on most maneuvers when work...

    GOOD NEWS, BAD NEWS..........

I had the same latching problem with my Corbin when I installed it a year or two ago. My theory is the shell is designed to fit but is expecting your weight to deform it a bit therefore the latch post is a little short. What I did was back the double locking nut on the post to make it a little...

    service

Lovely. I just had them do my DPS replacement along with the 6,000 mile service and I asked them to check and do all outstanding service bulletins and specifically asked them about the belt tension one. He said they took care of all bulletins but now that I think about it, they didn't list the...

    dps recall

Yes, Kent Powersports took over my pre-paid maintenance contract when Joe Harrison stopped selling Spyders. So far, I've used Kent twice, once for the DPS recall, and I like the way they work.

    DPS Recall Exchange

I got lucky. Called my dealer Yamaha of San Antonio. They were able to get me in this Friday. That was quicker than I expected. I've never had a confirmed problem with the DPS. Once on the highway with the wife on back in a gradual sweeper, I had it get momentarily "stuck" and then it released...

    Best exhaust on the market?

I got the Hindle installed yesterday and I expected a bit of a lower running temperature. It didn't. I rode home in 99 degree heat at 70 MPH on the highway and still hit 5 bars occasionally cooling down to 4. Disappointed. Looks and sounds good though. Installing the missing air dam this...

    Army Spyder's Been Drafted!

Verb That is great news. When I first saw your Army Spyder I thought for sure the Army would love it as a recruiting tool. It is always best to have the wife's input on a machine she'll want to ride with you. Best of luck. I too would like an RT but am not quite ready to take the depreciation...

    Helmets

Welcome :spyder:Lover! If you live near San Antonio, I would highly recommend Moto Liberty on 281 just north of Bitters (there's also another in Dallas). They are a real motorcycle accessory shop and they will spend the necessary time to help you find the right helmet that fits. I had been...

    Helmet Suggestion....

+1+1+1+1+1 on the Arai helmets. I recently went shopping and was quite surprised to find out that I was wearing an HJC that was 2 sizes too big! The guy at Moto Liberty took the time to measure my head and found that Arai makes several different shapes that correspond to different head shapes...

    Hot Weather Gear

I should probably wear more, but I pretty much wear jeans and boots all year round. For a jacket I wear a mesh jacket with armor with the liner out in the summer time. It still gets pretty unbearable at long lights but once at highway speed, you're not too miserable. I also invested in a small...

Off to a bad start this morning

So glad you are ok. So many idiot drivers out there. By any chance did you have any modified lights (like the Triple Play or similar) on your Spyder? I ask because I had a close call recently and am trying to determine whether additional lights help idiots see you better and thus avoid...

    BumbleBee's Custom RT-S

OMG!!! Bumblebee you are killing me! When I bought my 2008 SM5, I absolutely HAD to have it yellow as it is my favorite color and had just been denied getting a yellow truck when Ford stopped making yellow F-150s, I told myself that I was going to get a YELLOW Spyder. When the new RT came out...
