• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Sprockets..... Last post got me to thinking about sprockets. Wondering why it's not feasible to just drop a tooth on the front. Speedo not effected. Rev limiter controlled by RPM's. Wheel slip presumably measured/compared via 3 sensors on each tire & an accelerometer. Only difference I would...

Downshifting questions .... good or bad practices??

Best reasoning for a hand brake on a Spyder. Much faster & more natural/easier IMO to quickly tap a hand brake. That's what instinctively I kept trying to do the first week or so on a Spyder: "Two finger tap-flash on a brake handle that wasn't there.

    Other peoples reaction

Bike Week Laconia NH Only had one "encounter" with bikers, and that was during bike week in June. The guys came over and said WOW, that thing looks like a wild ride. Check this out..... Brembo brakes, belt drive.... How many cyl's & CC's? I told them 1330 triple and 0-60 in about 4...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

That's what I keep thinking (back to dealer thing)..... Full stop and crack throttle to 100%.... Takes off, but won't spin rear. Once in a while when turning onto side road etc. I can get some (only a little) wheel slip when going to full throttle in apex of turn. (1'st gear) Other than that...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Finally got nanny anti-slip to remain disengaged, but doesn't quite give the expected results. (LCD indicator remains on and so does the anti-slip yellow indicator on speedo. So far, so good.....) Tires on F3-S possibly a bit too sticky for wheel slip, tire pressure just right, or maybe...

    Dead Spyder

As other said: Sounds like battery.... Voltage but no amps. Reminds me of what happens when a cell goes dead in a battery.

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Hi Peter; Was thinking about that. And It may be possible to flip switch upside down or possibly mount the switch so that the mount is beneath the plastic (instead of on top) thus lowering it's profile. For the time being, I rolled up a sponge and tucked it under the seat thus applying more...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Well, pulling the plug didn't really work..... If it did, mine is a slug..... Here's what happened with sensor disconnected: Constant warning on dash (big letters scrolling) that passenger seat switch is defective. (when unplugged) And the yellow warning traction/slip indicator lamp was always...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

(No real interest in burning up tires though. Just too expensive and PITA to replace.) Plus, I was always worried about the machine getting away from me. Was the wheelie thing (and the twisties) that I was into (Had one accident in all my years on sportbikes/GSXR's, and that accident was the...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Fabulous. Been nearly a week since I've been on a "Spida-Spin." Next time I get a few hours off, that connector is getting pulled.

And no ECM error codes to worry about unplugged?

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Haven't pulled the seat (pack) yet to see if pack has enough downward pressure to effect passenger seat safety switch. Been busy @ work, however just an update on F3-S SE performance: Seems to be temps that have a huge effect on this machine in stock form. Surprised at how much difference...

Downshifting questions .... good or bad practices??

No hand brake lever = Safety issue? This thread just got me thinking and here's "my two cents" on Spyder brake setup..... The reality that Spyder does not have a hand brake actually can IMO become a safety issue, particularly at night. And here's why: After years of fairly aggressive...

F-3 Parking Brake does not realease

I feel for ya. ~ Keep us updated and good luck! Have a feeling that whatever the solution (once posted) will eventually save others. Seeing this post did it for me. Was always leery of the "fly by wire" parking brake. So no more shall I be using the parking brake (unless absolutely...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Good point. ~ Never thought to look at the bobber kit schematics. I do know that with the Cortech securely attached, the seat sits flush. It does not sit flush otherwise.

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Thank you!.... Will be trying that later this week. (Was concerned whether disconnecting could produce adverse consequences like error codes etc.) I have to get a photo of the pack on this bike. It's a FANTASTIC setup that looks like it was designed for this machine. OEM should be branding...

    Blue Ridge Height

Before buying, I was convinced I wanted to put a real windshield on my F3-S. (The Daytona version has a "cosmetic" mini which does next to nothing besides look good.) But the more I rode it, the more I realized my lid does such a great job in the wind that I lost all interest in putting on a...

2017 F3-S: Passenger seat safety sensor (2017 model only) traction control MOD?

Anyone have a quick-fix solution to disable the passenger seat sensor? I have a Cortech seat pack on the back seat. Not much weight, but it's securely attached and pushing down/held tight against second/passenger seat. Fairly certain that there is enough downward pressure (from pack on rear...

2017 F3 (SE) Nanny OFF performance?

Good to know I"m not the only one. On that note: Anyone have a quick-fix solution to disable the passenger seat sensor? I have a Corbin seat pack on the back. Not much weight, but it's securely attached and pushing down/tight against second/rear seat. (I think there may be enough downward...

    F3 Daytona total production number

Maybe you could change sprockets without issues..... As long as front wheels are in sync. with rears?
