• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Parking in public...

Hmmm, I'm, thinking about a remote controlled stun gun being wired into the seat. Imagine the laughs you could have. I remember a few years back Mercedes Benz having a security feature like this as a theft deterrent.

    2102 RT-S Oil Change

Shouldn't they come like that from the factory ?? With one engine for all the models and two transmission choices mapping a smooth running engine shouldn't be that complex. I feel lucky because I must have gotten a well set up unit. I have had no trouble since I picked mine up. Thanks to this...

    F i r e !

If you have to put out a fire you need the best tool to do the job. Here's a product that handles almost any situation. I don't pretend to know the science of how it works, but I have used it and I know first hand that it does what they claim. I keep a 2.5 gal unit in the garage in case I ever...

    2102 RT-S Oil Change

I paid $360 for the 600 mile service plus dropped another 40 bucks on some goodies at the dealer. I plan on doing my own oil changes. I have already done my first about a week ago. Just missed the free new lower panel. I'll get my hands on one sooner or later. From the pic that Lamont posted it...

How To Mount any Gizmo/ iPhone/ Garmin

Higher mount for GPS I prefer to keep my Garmin higher up to avoid washout from overhead sun light and reflected light from light colored clothing. Also helps keep the eyes looking closer to over the dash rather than looking down and not at the road. At my age any little distraction is...

    A question about brake system

Here is an alternate source for the Master Cylinder. http://www.partshark.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=1351070&category=Motorcycles&make=Can-Am&year=2010&fveh=37954

    A question about brake system

I have had no real experience with brake problems, but after taking a look under my RT it seems that the master cylinder if fairly close to the exhaust pipe. I can't help think that all that extreme heat so close by is not a good thing. Next time I have to remove side covers I will look into...

    Whole house propane generator ?

From an economy point I would go for a diesel powered unit for the following reasons. Gasoline has a shorter storage life than diesel. Diesel units use about half the fuel per hour of gasoline units. Propane has less energy per gallon than either gas or diesel, so you will need more gallons of...

    New Maintenance Schedule Booklet

Unless you have the new metal screen reinforced oil filter P/N 420956745 you would be safer and smarter at 3000 mile intervals. I wouldn't give BRP any reason to void a warranty by not using the improved filter.

    How do I change coolant

    New Maintenance Schedule Booklet

I'm sure I am not the first, but I just received the new maintenance booklet from BRP today explaining the longer oil change intervals and the elimination of the 10,000 km valve inspection. They also state that they will be phasing in price reductions on the components required for Spyder oil...

    My First DIY Oil Change

Same here. I really had to grunt to get the drain plugs out of the oil tank as well as the engine. Yes the mirror had to come off to remove the upper panel. The upper panel sits on top of the lower so it must come off. One other thing I didn't like when I saw it was how close the exhaust pipe...

    My First DIY Oil Change

I decided that I would lower the cost of owning my RT by doing my own oil changes. No point in giving all that cash to the dealer for something I could handle myself. Besides I like to be hands on when it comes to my ride. After reading all the tips on this forum I knew it was doable...

    How to adjust front shocks

Just going up a notch on the factory shocks has seemed to make an improvement for me. I also found that my air pressure for the rear was almost 0. The bike would squat and bounce when getting on and off. After adding 45 PSI it ts much better. I need to keep an eye on the pressure because I know...

    CB transmission fix update

Most CB problems are caused by poor grounding. In some cases even the radios will require additional grounding from the radio case to stop feedback noise. For as old as CB technology is you would think all maufacture's would know how to build units that were simple and trouble free, but that's...

Riding on Code Red Heat Days

Keeping cool One of the things I carry around in warm weather is a couple of medical instant cold paks. They don't take up much room and are good in an emergency. Ever since a fellow rider almost passed out from heat stroke I have made it a point to be ready in the future. Just sew or mighty...
