• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Dirty Clutch Fluid

2011 RTS SM5 6k miles. Checked the fluid level in the clutch reservoir today to find that the level is probably where it was originally, or at least near to it, but the fluid is pretty dirty. Also found some gunk stuck to the "expanding" part of the reservoir seal. I have had NO problems with...

    GPS INFO REQUEST

There are a couple ways you can tell the Zumo what to do. You can create a route directly on the Zumo or you can use their software called BaseCamp. From the Garmin BaseCamp web page: Use BaseCamp to plan your next hiking, biking, motorcycling, driving or off-roading trip. You can view maps...

    GPS INFO REQUEST

The Zumo 660 GPS and TeamSet Pro from Cardo Systems is what I currently have. (I'm seriously looking at Sena for a future purchase.) Like others I'm sure, I have successfully paired my cell phone and headset to the 660 and controlled the cellphone via the GPS. A second headset can be connected...

    Belt tension gage

Now I'm Really Confused! Is ft lbs, as in torque, what we're really after?

    Belt tension gage

From this site "In physics, the newton (symbol: N) is the SI unit of force, named after Sir Isaac Newton..." Using the conversion calculator at the same site, and rounding to whole numbers, 300 N is 67 lbs, 600 N is 135 lbs. The spec is 450 N (+/- 150 N) which is 101 lbs. Therefore you are...

    Belt tension gage

Book says 450 N (whatever those are) +/- 150 N for a range of 300 to 600. This range may have been prior to BRP changing the spec so it would be good to know what the spec is today. Now if someone would explain what "N" is we would know which one to buy. My guess is the larger of the two.

Glad you finally got your Spyder back on the road! Doesn't sound like it was too difficult a fix, once someone took the time to look.

Sounds like things are looking up for you and your Spyder. Hopefully you'll be able to ride it back home, and beyond, very soon. Keep us posted. The resolution to issues like the one you have experienced will be good to know.

Copping an attitude because I didn't spend my money there in the first place wouldn't garner any points with me either. Of the three techs perhaps only one of 'em has any experience, hopefully, working on a Spyder. Seems to be common except for places like Cowtown in Cuba, MO. In your original...

    I did something stupid

Even if you can grab it with something orienting it to get it back up through the hole could be a challenge. If you're up for it that's what I would suggest. However, perhaps it's time to remove some plastic. Not a difficult task it just takes a few minutes. Maybe even less than fishing for it...

    Uclear Helmet Comm System

No experience with the UClear. Interesting concept though. I've been using the Scala Rider TeamSet Pro for a year now (bought on sale at Cycle Gear.) Has worked very well. Recently began to use it with our Zumo 660 GPS. After discovering a quirk with the TeamSet Pro, something Cardo tech support...

    Cycle Gear Store Opinions Wanted

Wife and I have Bilt jackets (Tempest for her, Spirit for me) and insulated pants (Tempest for her, Storm for me) that work very well. Gets kinda cold here at times. Liners can come out of both when not needed. Woman's pants are a pain to get on and off (for her not me.) The Tempest legs don't...

I have had no problems with Honda of Tulsa. In fact their tech went out of his way to find a coolant leak (x2) even though the cooling system pressure test results suggested there wasn't one. The evidence spoke for itself however. Seems to me to be someone who can think on his own no matter what...

    Amsoil Test Results

Thanks for the info Ron. I'll be adding my results, riding under different conditions, in the near future. Just a couple thousand miles to go before it's time to send it off to the lab.
