• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    new qauges installed

Removed the factory analog gauges and replaced with Prosport LED Volt and Clock gauges. I love the look of these, they both go through a ceremony on start-up and turn off. Have them set to the dimmest mode and there not to bright at night. The only thing I have found odd is to set the clock...

    regarding HID lighting

This is so true... Another issue is the Spyder wants to turn the headlights on right away after starting, right when there is not enough voltage to light them up properly. You may get one to light and not the other or get luckey and have them both start. The ideal solution would be a delay of...

Have a spare key cut without the chip and hide that on bike. or: If you have the power trunk option you can hide a momentary switch tied to 12v and the solenoid release.

Where oh where has the milage gone?

I have had my Spyder for a few weeks now with 1200 miles on it and have been getting 28-29 mpg from day one so your definatly on the low end. The harmonic vibration is most likely from the belt which are felt through the foot pegs. I added the Smoothspyder pulley and also tightened belt a...

    Amsoil and SE5 clutch?

I have been using regular Amsoil motor oil ( not the motorcycle blend )in all of my quads, dirt bikes, motorcycles for the last ten years and now the Spyder. I realize that the MC blend has removed the friction modifier for wet clutches but my thinking is why deprive the entire engine of this...

Zumo 665 and XM - mystery solved?

My experience was I just purchased the Sena bluetooth headsets. Got them installed in mine and my wife's helmet, went for a ride and they worked beautiful. The next day got the Zuma 660 out, paired it with the headset, worked great, mp3, voice guidance loud and clear. We go for a ride that...

    Need help with Tricfenderz

I just slide the wire in and use a pliers to smash it. Takes quit a bit a pressure so the wire is tight. They are not my favorite type of connectors, I usually solder the wire on.

    Need help with Tricfenderz

You still have the battery attached at the end of the wires, it was used to demo the lights. Cut that off and then strip the wires, crimp on the spades and connect it to the Spyder,

Turn signal switch drives me crazy

Is there a trick to using the turn signal switch. Whenever I try to cancel the turns there is no real off position, I push straight in and either turn on the opposite side or they don't get canceled. Ya I no they time out but 30 seconds is a bit long for a lane change and they cancel after...

    carry a pistol?

Wow, great thread! I have never carried, but many time on the road wish I had. I just try to avoid the bad areas but sometimes you make a wrong turn and you wonder if your able to protect your family if things go wrong. Its a hassle to figure out what other states allow. Here in Nevada I can...

    Oil level, what the heck!

OK I could not take the suspense anymore. I said in my first post it was over 1 inch above the full mark from the dealer when new, this is where I left it and it was still at that level after 900 miles when I did the first oil change today. I had to pull the air filter housing and see if there...

    Oil level, what the heck!

Yes both the reservoir and the engine, let drain till nothing coming out, changed both filters. I can only assume all the oil does not get drained out and will have to top off using dip stick next time. But one inch over full mark, gees, does that translate into a quart or what? Thanks...

    Oil level, what the heck!

You convinced me, I think I will suck a little out just to be safe side if they are indeed venting to the air filter which kinda sounds like old school to me.

    Oil level, what the heck!

Yes the O ring is in place. Here is what the user manual says: NOTE: When the engine oil filter and the HCM oil filter are replaced, the total oil quantity to add will be 4.3 L (4.5 qt (U.S. liq.)). I went and called the dealer to see what they had to say and although there were no techs...
