• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

New Brake Pads at 54,600 Miles

One year old and you want to change the brake fluid? I haven't done brake fluid in years, on any bike. I only do it if I expose the system to air. My 2 cents... V.

I would like to make a request,

Look at the picture above, you can SEE the sprocket wheel imprints on the plate! That's from the AFTERMARKET CHROME CHAIN PLATE BRACKET! If the plate cracked, I bet that's why. Over-torqued and too tight. V.

I would like to make a request,

BRP provided a place to hang your plate, no? The plate fits? Aside from that, you're barking up the wrong tree. People coming out of the woodwork? Where!?! :yikes: I looked around every wood trim, tree, rocking chair and wood pile around my neighbourhood and didn't see any broken plates...

I would like to make a request,

I don't think I was mean, and if I was, I'm sorry. I definitely was sarcastic. The OP posted a picture of his plate with a monstrous chain-type looking chrome plate bracket. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that heavy metal bracket didn't help his case. But really, does every...

I would like to make a request,

Man, I agree with you! I installed a butler cup, with suction mount on the inside of my windshield and while riding, some drops of coffee fell on my leg and burnt me! Couldn't BRP have designed an RT with an OEM coffee holder. Why didn't BRP make coffee cooler so it wouldn't burn! While...

    what to do?

I'm not "speaking" for anyone. Just stating the obvious. There are more Spyder owners out there that are fully content than those who are having problems. These message boards simply amplify the voice of the small minority who are having problems. As for your :spyder2:, I'm sorry you're...

    Questions/Initial Problems

Yep, mine does smell like fuel sometimes between 1530 and 2130, every other day, but not on Fridays or Mondays, if it rained the day before. On Wednesdays, it only smells when the mailman is late, but sometimes when my cat meows, and then only on Saturdays. Diagnose that BRP. :D On the other...

    what to do?

Well, it's unfortunate that your RT was not fine "out of the box". It certainly should've been. The RT design is fine "out of the box", but there are many bad dealer PDI's and some factory goofs out there. My point was more to the fact that most RT owners are very happy, despite some problems...

    what to do?

Bigdon, Mine is stock. Suspension set at 4 in the front and the rear. It handles like it's on rails. Put it this way, it handles much better than my Goldwing ever did. It handles better than most cars, better than all trucks and better than most harley-type cruisers. Just because ONE...

I have not replaced the speakers yet. I will probably do it eventually, but so far, I don't mind the stock setup. V.

    Service bulletins issued

As with a lot of problems people have had, most of them have been caused by a poor dealer who did not do a PDI or did a crappy job at it. I would not go to that dealer again, ever. My SE5 was purchased at Canada's top dealer and it runs flawlessly. They set it up, gave me a one hour course on...
