• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Clock doesn't keep time

Have not heard of any slow clock Spyders. All seem to be fast. I reset when it gets more than 10 minutes fast. Must be the US/CAN time exchange rate.

    Hit a deer tonight.

While the bow and gun seasons are limited, Michigan is open season with cars and cycles all year. Hit three with my car in the last six years, but so far, no close encounters on bikes. See them almost every time I ride which is a constant reminder that they are a threat. Good news is no...

    NEW MISSING STUFF!

Harvey has come up with some clever fixes for heat management, and best of all, they are affordable. MAD works great and I'm sure the MBG, MHS and AMS I ordered today will be equally effective. :2thumbs:

    AMAZED, JUST DAMN AMAZED

I think most everyone agrees that this is an amazing design. They did miss a few details, however, and the very complexity that defines it is what drives dealers, mechanics and home wrenchers nuts. Beyond the initial learning curve for owners, dealers and techs lies the longer term question of...

Trunk that will fit BRP quick attach backrest

Nice job. I see that you followed the idea that some of us did in removing the ugly orange trim strip and painting it to match your Spyder, Big improvement. Could you share the dimensions of your brackets with us so we don't have to start from scratch?

Trunk that will fit BRP quick attach backrest

Here are some shots of the Sears trunk ($33 + shp also available at JC Whitney) that bolts easily to the sport rack plate. Made in China not Italy like Givi, but for the price, it works great. Three small holes drilled in the sport rack plate and you can then eaither use the integrated trunk...

    New Hot Wheels

When they come out, they are easy to pick up at Walmart, K-Mart, Target, Meijers, Toys R Us. Once they come out, they seem to go fast and are hard to find after a few weeks. I try to get a couple of each so my two Grandsons can have their own Spyders. Hot Wheels collectors are like Spyder...

    New Hot Wheels

Here's a shot of all three Hot Wheels Spyder like vehicles; the original orange/silver, the silver/gold and the new flame with red windshield. The new one has specs on the back that say 200 hp, 150 mph top speed and 0-60, 3.5 sec.

    RS Seat Cover Installation?

It is a bit of work to get the seat off if you have the sport rack, but removing the seat is the way to go. As others noted, let the sun do some of the work for you. Instructions are easy to follow and the end result is nice.

    Trip Planner

You can pick what services you want it to show (gas, food, lodging, points...

    Fuses under the seat

I have been to four dealers and none of them stock the 25 amp fuse. :dontknow:

    Oil too low?

There is not much margin between the full and low marks on the dipstick, but I don't know the number of ounces. Since it is a short dipstick, if you get no reading, you have no idea about the oil level. Since I had trouble reading the dipstick, I took a 12" piece of plastic hanger and made a...

    Warranty Question

:agree:The cost of the BEST coverage is about $300/yr. Liability and collision insuarnce is a bigger expense. In both cases, I hope I don't need it, but if I do, I'll be gald to have it.

    Insurance Cost

Make sure you have the right coverage. You can get some pretty cheap quotes that don't give you the coverage you need.

:agree:1,250 mile Lake Michigan Loop seems to confirm this; cooler engine, hotter foot.

I did take a six minute video crossing the Bridge. I'll see if I can get it downloaded if anyone is interested.

    Lake Michigan Loop

Forgot to add the highlight; seeing the USS Cobia at Manitowoc and the USS Silversides at Muskegon. Two WW II subs the same day. Pretty amazing to think what those submariners went through; not diminishing what all service men and women go through.

Returned from four day loop of Lake Michigan. Jackson to Muskegon up the coast through Leelanau Peninsula, Traverse City, Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs, Cross Village, Mackinaw Bridge (easier on three wheels than two), Naubinway, Manistique, Escanaba (in the daylight), Menominee, Green...
