• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

RS Seat Cover Installation?

Webhead

New member
I just picked up a BRP seat cover on E-Bay (great deal - waiting for it to arrive) and was wondering how much of a PITA it is to install.....I have the BRP backrest installed and have never attempted to remove the seat. Is removing the seat even necessary? I've searched the forums, but couldn't come up with anything.....

Any tips or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Steve

The seat must be removed IMO. When you get it and see the instructions you'll understand. You really have to stretch the material and push in these plastic darts and it would be near impossible without the seat being removed. As for being a PITA to remove the seat, not bad for me. But it might be for you with the sport rack installed.

It is a bit of work to get the seat off if you have the sport rack, but removing the seat is the way to go. As others noted, let the sun do some of the work for you. Instructions are easy to follow and the end result is nice.

Let it sit out in the sun for a bit before installing. It will help the material stretch.

Very good advise as this helps a lot with applying the cover. But the seat will still need to come off, no? And with the sport rack on I am not sure if the seat will go back far enough to get the bolt out. I am supposed to be working and am not by my Spyder to take a look.
