• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

DPS recall, anyone else had it done yet?

About a thousand km's on the new DPS now and my ride is the best it has ever been. My original was replaced only at the beginning of summer, and re-re-placed with the recall DPS two weeks ago. Venom, I would be surprised if the handling was acceptable with 14 lbs. I find 19/20 to be a much...

    DPS Recall

Find another dealer. They are being paid 1.7 hrs for the recall installations so anything more than a couple of hours would make me nervous.

    DPS Recall Exchange

Had mine done yesterday. I had the steering lock up on me before and it was not pleasant. Carlo and my dealer have been great handling the issue. A new DPS was installed a few months ago but I still had the thought in the back of my mind. Courtenay Motorsports on Vancouver Island made sure I was...

    Brake Fluid Change?

In the sport bike circles it is a common maintenance item to change out brake fluid annually. As mentioned before brake fluid absorbs moisture and that moisture affects the fluids ability to dissipate heat. High performance brakes generate alot of heat. During a recent rather "sporting" ride one...

    Exhaust Help

I went with the Leo Vince and couldn't be happier. Actually a little nasty without the baffle but a nice tone with the baffle in. Also very nice quality.

Elka Shocks Stage 1 vs. Stage 1 Plus?

Generally, the reservoir allows for more fluid to be used, as well as keeping the fluid outside the shock body to cool it. Some are attached to the shockbody, some are remote reservoirs that you mount in a separate location. There are no additional lines that need to be hooked up.

    What Have I done???

Pitbull Thanks for your honesty and I agree with you 100 percent. Any new design requires a learning curve and BRP and the dealers have fallen a little behind here. Some of the posts reflect a lack of knowledge on the techs part. If all the posts are to be believed then there are some techs out...

    Exhaust wrap installed .... Observations

The only concern with the wrap is if the pipes are double wall. Don't know if that is the case with the Spyder. In a double wall construction the interior of the pipe may get too hot and the material can break down. I have had wrap on my Vegas' pipes for a while and the drop in temp is amazing...

Limp Home............I was already at home

Hard to believe BRP will not re-imburse them for diagnosing a warranty issue. Also would be concerned they were unaware of the fault code process. I think one of the issues facing Spyder owners is a still uninformed dealer network. I would try another dealer regardless of how nice this one was.

YOU PEOPLE ARE SCARING ME TO DEATH

No question that the forums tend to be where people with problems hang out. People that are having a wonderful time aren't likely to log on. Like Lamont says...ride it! I am currently having some significant issues with my RS but they are being dealt with. The most important component is your...

    Squeaky Brakes

Are you guys trying the disc quiet? I have had NO noise since and it takes about half an hour.

    Squeaky Brakes

Apply an anti squeak compound to the backs of the pads. This is now a standard procedure for the BRP techs. Also, there is a new compound pad that is a free upgrade if you are having problems. Check with your dealer to see if they have been installed.

    Hand Grip Question

I just had a look at the Kuryakun site and it looks like the Universal 6241 are the same as the Universal 6240, but for a smaller bar diameter. If you look on the site the instructions are there and they will not be bike specific. Are they the same set of instructions that you received?

    Hand Grip Question

Unless these are totally different than the ones I have on my motorcycle, I don't think you need to glue anything. The throttle is a sleeve that fits over the handlebar and is held in place by the housing. The left side is held on by set screws.

WHAT IS UP WITH KEWL METAL?

I have some Kewl Metal stuff on my Victory which I am very happy with but hopefully Matt sees your post. Great products Matt but you do need to do a better job of informing customers of wait times and product deliveries. This is not the first post of this nature.

    Quieter Muffler

I have the Leo Vince CF and with the baffle in it sounds great but not too loud. Baffle out and it is another story!! My wife rode it for the first time last week and I was behind her on another bike. Not obnoxious at all and I think it looks very clean.

    Rear Fender Removal

I have a small chip to remind me that it will hit the fender. I tightened up the rear shock and it has been ok since. I would highly reccommend giving the mount a little bend outward. I also added a plate frame and put a small piece of weatherstripping foam on the backside of the bottom edge...
