• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No longer Bummed out on Spyder Repairs

Sounds like a great place for oil changes , tires , exhaust and routine stuff...........The biggest challenge is that without the BUDS system (Only a BRP dealer has that and only a BRP dealer can buy one and even if they somehow had one ($$$$$$$$$) it has to link via your dealer code to BRP in...

    Spyder on fire

I agree, but no one ever will take that liability. They'd be crazy to. :yikes:

BRP Brings in Expert to review SE5 Tranny Design

I'm not sure they do...... ;)

    Sent the RTS packing

It all depends on your riding style. That being said , the 08-09 makes great power between 5700 and 8000 rpm , my wife usually shifted hers around 7000 , I was typically higher. I shift my RT around 7500 unless I really need to hustle. Oh By the way , the thing falls on its face about 11000...

BRP Brings in Expert to review SE5 Tranny Design

BRP has gone outside their internal engineering and Rotax to well known Rockwell Automotive to redesign the SE5 Tranny for 2011. Got a shot with my Hero HD Camera at the shop of the final outcome on how they are going to redesign the SE5 so the issues that appeared this year do not happen...

    Sent the RTS packing

Both cars are grossly overpriced (IMHO) but while the Panamera has best in class initial delivery quality, The 2010 Jag XJ Sedan and The 2010 Panamera have both received identical long term reliability forecast by JD Powers (Between average and above average but not among the best) so I'm not...

    LUBRICANT OIL

Dudley- Agree with the not mixing to a certain degree , but the Spyder certainly knows that difference between oils as all engines do, There is a significant step up in quality between a regular oil or synthetic blend and say Mobil 1 4T. Shear properties etc. Just not even in the same...

Did you ever get the check engine/limp mode and then it went away?

Scotty , I kinda agree but it isn't really phantom ,its true description in OBD II is : P0000 No Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC) Present In other words , all is good!

Did you ever get the check engine/limp mode and then it went away?

I am intimately familiar with the systems on the Rt and the BUDS system. There is not a maintenance reminder computer function on the RT. You were given a line. Press mode/set/blinker cancel all at once once your spyder has booted up and tell us what the code reads on the dash. :doorag:

    Sent the RTS packing

I'm in the car business and am involved with pretty much every franchise under the sun (new car). It always amazed me how our Customers that owned Jaguars and Porsches kept buying new ones after owning them. When compared to lets say , our Honda Customers, The Jags and Porsches were nightmares...

So who wants to take a guess for 2011?

Eventually there will be a new motor, but it will not be the 1125. That motor is STILL licensed to Harley Davidson, so even though Buell is not producing "road" bikes , Eric is still building race only 1125r's using that motor. The equally compelling reason is if anyone has ever spent some...

1550 miles on both our RTS's this past 4 days absolutely bullet proof , hit 6 states and the Blue Ridge Parkway.... What a trip...

    Frustrated

Unplug the fuse on your DPS on a RT and go ride about 25 miles on lets say the Blue Ridge Parkway. The word "unneeded" would not occur to you after that. The amount of muscle needed to turn the bars is greater than you would suspect. :doorag:

The Good, the Bad (not really) and the UgLY

Been haulin trailers for a long time .............with my truck or car.. .................... The Spyder trailer requires the same opposite turning as you would in a car or truck when backing up , however , the short short short wheelbase means your corrections are minimal (don't turn the bars...

The Good, the Bad (not really) and the UgLY

Just finished 1600 miles with the trailer in tow. Bought the trailer the night before we left on the trip. So the trip was on the job training.... I'll do myreview of the trip later tonight but the trailer turns the Spyder into a touring extrodinaire............ not to mention that you...

    Trailer price

Dave- I get it , I just know how hard most dealers work to build a loyal owner base and sometimes it bugs me when I hear phrases like work them against each other. Its just been a long week , don't take it personal. Hopefully one of those dealers will earn your loyalty in some way so you wont...

    Trailer price

......And then when you need warranty work or a special favor who do you go to after they have been beat up? How about going to a dealer that offers good service and items at a fair price versus beating them to the lowest margins. My dealer bends over backwards for me and is there when I need...
