• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SPYDERFEST IN THE OZARKS

Wonder if Cuba is second guessing their actions now? They had a great thing and got greedy. To bad. :lecturef_smilie:

    Honor mission

I have ridden on numerous Missions for troops coming and going to combat situations. It is hard when they come home severly injured or in coffins. The hardest thing for me is to see is this great country cut and run and dishonor the brave military members who have given so much. Our actions will...

Had a great day today...my first solo PGR mission...TWO of them!

So does this mean we will be waiting much longer for parts than we are already? What is the difference between the "factory blew up" and an "Explosion"?:dontknow:

Riding alone in remote areas - essentials?

My survival kit is a cell phone and AAA. It has always worked for me.

    WHEEL CHOCKS! Revisited..........

I agree with Scotty. I do the same thing and have never had the Spyder move even an inch. Also, using padding between the straps and the rims is smart. ;)

flat tire, what will happen then?

I agree with calling AAA and have it taken to a dealer. That is what I do with my cars and trucks, only with them they can changed the flat along side of the road, so why not have them tow the Spyder?:lecturef_smilie:

    Batteries

I keep a battery tender on it all the time it is setting in the garage. It seems to still be holding a good charge but think the next time I am at the dealer I will have them change it just to be safe. Like I said before, in the desert 2 years is about the max. time to change batteries.

    Batteries

Just wondering, does anyone have and idea how long the batteries typically last out here in the desert? I have had experience with all kind of vehicles over the last 50+ years but do not know about the Spyder. I am 50 miles from my dealer and do not want to try and change the battery myself in...

    New Spyder next year.

The guy I was talking to was not familiar with Spyders. He said from his observations the Spyders were real "squirrelly" at high speeds in turns. I explained "Granny" to him and he said these Spyder's definitely did not have "Granny" or anything else like that on the Spyders they were...

    New Spyder next year.

I talked to a guy here today that test drives new cars and has ridden MC's for years. He is testing cars on a track here in Arizona and he says they are testing Prototype Spyders at the track here also. He could not tell me much but said the ones they are testing have bigger engines, and...

    Cooling Vest

I wear one all the time on any distance ride during the summer out here. Just remember that a distance ride in the summer is 2-3 hours before 10:00 A.M. They work fairly well but you must wear a shirt, vest or light jacket over them. Even with that they only last a couple of hours if you do not...

    Rain boot covers?

"Rain", what is that? It has been so long since I have seen anything that resembles water falling from the sky I am not sure I would recognize it.

    Riding through the desert...cooling ideas?

I have lived in Arizona for 50+ years and I can tell you when it gets to 115 to 122 degree's, it is hot and nothing really helps when you are riding. The Kool vest and long sleeve shirt are good but the best thing is to ride between 0500 to 0900 and than go home and have a cold one. IMHO.
