• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

This handbrake, is it a dealer (BRP) option or aftermarket?

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

I guess I'm seeing it as the same problem weather a person as long legs or not. The rider must lift his leg to activate the brake. At that point it becomes difficult to modulate the brake. It doesn't seem to make much difference if it's a situation where the size of the foot is short making it...

Foot brake - comments sought from taller Ryders

I had started another thread that was really about the same issue. It dealt with trail braking into left turns. Are the 20-22 parts retrofittable to the earlier RT's? Does anyone know which parts are different?

What did you do to your Spyder today?

The screws are a M6 that use a M10 wrench.

What's the one thing you think is Useless Junk on your Spyder?

+1 on sound system. Auto leveling is just added electronics/software that do much. Two presets, manual adjust like the Goldwing is sufficient.

Trail braking while turning hard left

I do have the sway bar and I'm running Quatrac's all the way around. I absolutely agree spyder01 that these bikes are much more physically demanding to ride hard then a two wheel bike. I haven't gone on any long rides yet but I already know that if I even last a full day I will be exhausted at...

Trail braking while turning hard left

Thanks for the replies. I probably didn't explain myself very well in the first post. I've ridden many bikes for decades and started out with the MSF slow in and fast out style of riding. It's a good way to learn. However trail braking into a corner has a number of safety advantages. Most of...

Trail braking while turning hard left

As I get more comfortable with my RT I'm riding harder when I want to. I use my outside leg to push down while also using my inside knee to maintain body position. The problem I'm having is modulating the brake late into a corner while pushing down hard at the same time when going around left...

Still Riding? I think I am now done for the season...

For me 40 is about the cutoff. Used to ride down into the 20's on the wing but no more. I've never spent money on heated jackets and pants because here in NE PA once they start spraying the roads with that liquid brine/salt that's it. It just stays in the pavement until a couple of decent...

New Tires - Now brake pedal problem

I was able to take a look at things this morning. Problem solved. It appears to a combination of two things. I had the oversized Show Chrome brake pedal on the bike. This prevents the pedal from going all the way down unless you push hard enough to release the front of the floorboard. I did...

New Tires - Now brake pedal problem

I agree Mike. Especially when you know that the bike only has 4500mi on it. Even if he did push/turn the pistons in they should have pumped back up quickly. That what's got me baffled. There's nothing particularly special about removing the rear wheel on the Spyder compared to any chain/belt...

New Tires - Now brake pedal problem

I had a local independant motorcycle/atv shop install new 175/55R-15 Vredestein Quatrac SL and 205/65R-15 Vredestein Quatrac SL on my 2018 RTL today. Love the tires. When I went to pull out the brake pedal went all the way down. OK, so the guy didn't even test drive the bike. I probably should...

Problems selecting reverse gear! Anyone else? Fix? Ideas?

I'm not denying the failed control unit problems. But what I have noticed is I need to make sure I'm pressing the center of the R button. Sometimes I'm not in the center and it feels like it has depressed but it hasn't. I have a partially amputated thumb which makes all gloves clumsy. As far...

Auto Leveling Suspension - is it manual? If storage, how much air?

I'm no expert at all so take what I say with a grain of salt. Part of the confusion is that not years of RT have the same system. Mine is a 2018 and it appears that 2018 was a year of change. Not all 2018's are identical. Mine has no switch on the dash but does have a Schrader valve under...

Want Driver Backrest for 2018 RT - any advice?

Thanks AtomicEd. I was hoping someone had come up with a trick or technique for mounting the stead.

Want Driver Backrest for 2018 RT - any advice?

I'm new to Spyders but my 2018RT came with the BRP backrest. I put it on to try and took it back off right away. The aftermarket ones stay down for when you swing your leg over to get on or off. The BRP is spring loaded and you have hold it down or swing you leg really high to clear it.

extension on back of gear shift button

I was going to post a question and then saw this thread. My question was can the bar controls be twisted? I've had bikes that could be adjusted and others that had a locator pin. One could cut the pin off if he was of the determined type? I do have a partially amputated left thumb. Table...

Auto Leveling Suspension - is it manual? If storage, how much air?

I have read that in the manual and that's what started the confusion. I thought bikes with self leveling did not have a Schrader valve. The RT Limited is supposed to have the self leveling. I'll have to my wife get on while listening for the pump.
