• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Riding gear

Riding Gear Well, you already got a great helmet, now time for the rest of the gear. Read over the advice above about the 3 Layer Jacket. I have a Tourmaster, and will be wearing just the mesh in the 100 degree weather this afternoon. The other item I carry is a set of Frogg Toggs (sp?) rain...

Riding on Code Red Heat Days

Code Red I packed a t-shirt and shorts for the ride home because I'm not doing it in office clothes. I will, however, hydrate well this afternoon before the trip home. I have plans to stop and get a drink if the traffic is slow.

What windshield do you recommend on the RS for freeway driving?

Madstad adjusting bolts I'm very satisfied with my Madstad brackets, but find the adjustment bolts to be hard to access. Has anyone tried other methods to make adjustments easier? It seems to me that the teflon coated bolts would be a necessity to prevent loosening; any words of advice for...

What windshield do you recommend on the RS for freeway driving?

Windshield :agree:, Madstad is good. The height of the windshield would depend on how tall you are. I like to be able to see just over the windshield in the normal riding position. I personally hate looking through a bike's windshield, but to each, their own. :p

    Rain Suit Experience

Rainsuit I have a couple of 2-piece rainsuits, 1 Nelson-Rigg and 1 Frogg Toggs. Both work well, but there is always a litttle leakage if you get caught in a frog-drowner. I saw a 1 piece Tourmaster last weekend, and thought it might do better. BTW, it was $109. :doorag:

    Juicebox/O2 modifier/O2 Sensor Question

I believe you would require the stock O2 sensor, yes.

    Need some advise please

Your bike is running too lean. You will need an O2 sensor that enriches the fuel mixture. Juice box, or modified O2 sensor will do the trick. I have the modified O2 with dual exhaust and it works fine.

Travel Luggage / Bag That fits on to RS Backrest Well??

I use the Kuryakin Grand Tour Bag on my RS. It has 2 advantages: (1) If I strap it in front of the backrest, I can lean back and rest on the bag. (2) If I have a passenger, I can strap the bag behind the backrest, and run the velcro in front for extra stability. Please note that the bag is...

Finally! A solution to an age old problem...

Slick A few months ago I saw a video of a "hydrophobic" liquid sprayed on a white cloth sneaker. The user proceeded to tip a bottle of Hershey's syrup onto the top of the sneaker.....:yikes: To my surprise, the syrup slid right off, without leaving a stain. I wonder if its the same stuff...
