• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Top Ideas for Safe Travel

+1. I haven't taken the course for awhile but have taken it 4 times over the years. Lots of good info in there, including preride checks, keeping your eye on escape routes, yadda yadda. Worth a read, and if you haven't taken the course in awhile, a refresher is good.

Just Had Major Scheduled Service on my 2012 Can-Am Spyder RT-S SM5

Nice pricing on that service. I'd call it a deal and be smilin the whole way home.

Has anyone heard of a 2010 RT blowing up

I don't know what I'd do if that happened to my garages, they're all attached to each other. Glad you got a new Spidey and no one hurt. I'd probably be in therapy.

    2014 RT...?

Sokay, my dealer is great but the finance guy still told me I would really enjoy the prepaid servicing package since valve adjustments were such a pain. I almost laughed. I'm like ...man...I'm gettin the '14 cuz it doesn't have valve adjustments, I have do to 'em every 10 hours on my KTM....

    Discount parts?

My local dealer (Brewers, a site sponsor), is usually cheapest on can-am OEM replacement parts after figuring in shipping and all, since I just pick it up at the counter. Good for tires as well. For accessories, Amazon seems pretty good. I just got my frunk rolling luggage for $182 including...

    Corbin Heated Seat (HELP!)

I wired to a 12v accessory male plug and plugged it into the rear trunk accessory socket. No touchie stock wiring system and it works great, if I sell the bike, nothing to do to remove the seat for next bike.

    It's Firstgear Thermo Time Again!

Firstgear heated is made by my friends over at Warmnsafe and it is the best there is. Buy the Firstgear electric stuff and you will not be sorry with the purchase. Combine that with Ron's prices...and wow....such a deal! :). Wish I needed more......

    cold

Be careful!!!....I ride year round, with temps often in the teens in the mornings here but nothing like NY. Deer are a real problem though, and I've got the titanium plates and screws to prove it :(.

2014 RT Ltd Heated Suit Hookup??

I know it's not the easiest, but i wired mine direct to battery, coming in from the back of the battery tray (which is outside/exposed). In hindsight, I should have simply connected to alternator, it's closer and I wouldn't have had to mess with removing the battery to make the connections. I...

    Just beginning to look - - - -

Hey, was just emailing back with my dealer on this one, they noticed my post about paying the full price on mine last month. They thought that was negative, even though I mentioned I'd rather spend more for local. Seriously though, mine was 24 plus dealer delivery/prep whatever for an SM, so...

    Not feeling the magic.......

My '12 needed a ronbar and it did wonders. The '14 I thought needed one, but I synched up the tires with one of the dual fill gizmos at 20lb and it handles really well. I'm sure a ronbar would make it even better, but the '14 without handles better than the '12 with... As to the learning...

    Seat heat option

I've got the top o' the line heated gear (Warmnsafe.com), sold all my gerbing to get them. I don't use the pant liners anymore though because even through thick leather pants the corbin heated seats will literally burn your a$$. I'm going to get another heattroller and put it on the seat...

    cheap spyder on ebay

Bought probably 35 or more cars and bikes on fleabay. Some worked out really well, sometimes I got shafted. My latest GT750 was a fleabay and a truly spectacular deal on a show ready bike. Any big ticket item on fleabay though, you gotta get the sellers phone number and talk to them. I...

    14k service cost

One of the reasons I dropped the '12 is that i called a dealer and the 14k service with valve check/adjust as needed was quoted at just over 1k. I'm sure that varies quite a bit as it was the same deal on my 2012 kawi concours, anywhere from 600 to 900 for the major service with valve...

    Heated seat?

Do all 14's have the connector or is that just for the L? I have my corbin heated seat wired to the rear accessory plug right now but if there is a factory connector I'd rather get the proper connector end for it and plug in there.

    2014 RT-S Pros and Cons

Yeh the price isn't cheap, and my local dealer doesn't come off list. They are a good service dealer though and buying elsewhere then bringing to them for service probably isn't the same experience.....so 24k after rebate for the bike, plus transportation/assembly, plus 'documenation', and I...
