• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Some BRP tour pics.

It is a windshield by F1 windshields, but are no longer in business. He got in over his head and was using money from new orders to fulfill older orders and it finally caught up with him......at least this is the story that I got. I love the windshield though and has great wind blocking...

    Factory Tour Was awesome!

Just got back home from the trip to Valcourt. I have to agree with Tom about the tours of the museum and the factory. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we arrived at the Museum parking lot by Erik, one of the reps. for customer service. Our little group from NY and NJ were fortunate enough...

    Antifreeze canister cracked!!!!!!

Mine went bad on the road! Mine cracked coming home from Pa. last year in June on I81, the ambient temp. was in the low 90s and we were in a major slow down due to road construction. All of a sudden I saw the temp. on the bike going through the roof so I pulled over to the side and discovered...

    Tires....a.g.a.i.n

I will just say I have my 2nd Michelin car tire on the rear on my Spyder, and the first one I got over 26000 miles on it and had no problems at all. I' m sure I could have gotten at least another 3,000 or 4,000 miles on it, but wanted to be ready for this riding season so I had it done in the...

    Valve job or Hose job!

I had 53,000 on mine when I was getting some other work done under warranty, and had my valves checked at that time and they were all within spec. I now have 96,000 miles on it and still going strong.

    How Far to Your Dealer?

I vowed to never go to my closest dealer, which is 5 miles away, after they ended up costing me over a $1000 that should have been covered under my extended warranty. They submitted the claim to BRP as a wear item but everyone else that had the same problem was covered. I could not find...

John Trooper and Elka are the very best!!!

Update I have had an issue with my rear Elka shock since it was installed on my Spyder back a couple of years ago. I could not get it adjusted right even after talking to the dealer and John himself about what I needed to do to get it right. Also I discovered another issue with rear...

Found a big design flaw with the 1st Gear Riding Suit

I agree, it is not that hard to think ahead and put things you are going to need or want somewhere besides your inner clothing pockets. I always use the pockets in the suit and find they are very convenient!!

Raven comes to humans for help

It's good to see that there are still some people that have compassion for life and doing something good for someone or something other than themselves. Love the video!!

Looking for someone to ride with in Corning NY Area??

We live in Homer, NY which is about half way between Syracuse and Binghamton and we ride a lot into the Finger Lakes area and even out your way. I have my Spyder pretty much apart right now but hopefully will be getting it back together in the near future as soon as I get my rear shock back...

John Trooper and Elka are the very best!!!

Hi Jim, Just curious, does your Fastenal store sell individual pieces? We have one in Cortland, NY but only sell bulk and refuse to sell individual pieces. Did you have to replace the bushing that is in the second picture or were you able to straighten it? Mine was bent worse than the one you...

    Question about an oil leak

Not yet Ron, I probably will have to wait 'till the weather warms up enough to get out and ride it some. Some people have said that maybe with the colder weather this year that some of the seals have shrunk up and maybe when I get it out to ride it they will return to normal:dontknow:. I...

    Question about an oil leak

Hi Bob, I'm sure it isn't that. I put new antifreeze in it last spring when my coolant tank went bad. Also my garage is an attached garage and even though it isn't heated, it is always 15 to 20 degs. warmer than the outside temps.

    Question about an oil leak

I do almost all of the work on the bike, including all of the oil changes and greasing the front A arms. I have changed the pillows on the A arms also. I have installed all of the farkles myself but any major work was done at the dealer which has been very little. It has been a great machine...

    Question about an oil leak

Ya Scotty, I agree that it could be coming from many places and thanks for the hint about the oil pressure sending unit. I was hoping that some one could give me a sense of what it could be from that side of the motor. Can't wait to be able to get riding again but maybe I'll be able to...

    Question about an oil leak

I guess what surprises me the most is that the leak has appeared without the motor running. I plan on doing that as soon as it warms up a little. Tonight it is only 6 degs. and still supposed to be really cold for at least a couple more days before it warms up to around the low 20s. We still...
