• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    bug remover

Honda Cleaner and others +1 for Honda Spray Cleaner. Dawn dish cleaner has worked well for me. It's what they use to clean up oil soaked waterfowl. Especially good it you have lots of bugs. Plexus is very good and pricey! I've also heard that Pledge is good and have a can on the shelf for...

    Another Tire Question

Front tire experience My OEM's went south quickly due to bad alignment. I replaced them with Falken ZEIX ZE512's in 185/60 - 14 largely because of availability at the time. They were a b***** to fit into the fender space. Removing the mud flaps would help a lot. I really can't notice a...

    risers and hand brake

I think you'll be fine I put the ISCI handbrake on my 09 RS a couple years ago. The brake line that comes with it is long enough to easily allow a 3" riser. The handbrake takes a bit of practice due to a long handle movement but I really like having it.

Discount Tire says they will not sell tires for Spyders.

Try another store When I lived up there in Niwot the Longmont Discount Tire would not put car tires on my open flatbed trailer. I thought that was completely crazy. I went to the Boulder store and they put on the tires I wanted with no fuss. Who knows why.

    RT Passenger grab rail extensions?

I have the same problem On my 09 RS SE5 the passenger rails are too far away for my wife to use. I've been doing a lot of research. What I'm looking at right now is www.skilash.com to solve this. I emailed them about the weight/pressure limit for these and got a quick reply that they have...

    Trailer Tire Question

Another point of view I've towed cycles on 2 different trailers for about 15K miles. I prefer car tires over trailer tires as long as they have sufficient load rating. In my cases that was always a pretty low number. They flex more and tow just fine. The stiff walls of a trailer tire and...

    Am I doing something wrong?

Another option That parking brake foot pedal is not handy to say the least. My left ankle is too weak to operate it at all so I converted it to a hand brake like shown in this link. It works great. If people think it's geeky that's fine. To me it does the job and I'm still riding...

    Seat question/options?

I have an extra OEM seat I have the original sear from my 09 boxed up in my garage but getting it to you might be a hassle. It could be the pan for your new Day Long. We could explore it.

    Unusual Spyder parade entry

I was wondering this morning if my SE5 could go slow enough to be in a parade. I was in one with my GL1500 trike and it couldn't go slow enough. I was in and out on the clutch thru the whole route. Not a fun event. That is a great parade entry where everyone is invited to run out and give it...

    Landscape Trailer

I agree with Snoopy. I use 2 2x6's screwed together and run the rear wheels of my Blazer up on them. Then lock the parking brake. That tilts the trailer and lessens the angle of the tailgate. Placing the trailer wheels in a low spot like the curb helps too. It's all one great geometry test!

    Hindle question....

My RS had the hindle on it when I bought it. After about a year my social conscience forced me to put the original back on. It is a lot quieter and I don't mind the sound. But I'm not a fan of V-twin sounds in general. The way I ride these days any performance downgrade was not noticeable...

    BRP Backrest parts??

What motorcycle stuff isn't expensive?? Also, they are usually low volume items and need to be built to a pretty high standard. You would hate to see your backrest snap off out on the highway and dump your passenger onto the pavement. Ouch!!

    Battery Question

5 Yrs for mine My 09 GS was first sold in Jan of 09. The battery died in Mar of 14. I figure I can't complain on that. I replaced it with an Oddyssey which I bought off the shelf at a local Batteries Plus. Never used a maintainer or a charger on the OEM and it sat unused for several long...

    Anyone from Mesa, AZ?

Just moved there permanently We were snow birds for 7 years and now move into a house near Baseline and Signal Butte. It's a nice area and fairly free of the big city hassles. Mesa is a big city. It's just that no one knows about it yet. I'd be glad to discuss anything that I know...

New Battery for my 09 SE5

PC680 I got the PC680. It comes with 2 angled brackets that I attached to the battery. Then I had to bend the '+' cable end to line up against the bracket properly. The '-' cable didn't need mods. The unit is a bit smaller than the OEM but the rubber strap seems to hold just fine. If I had...

New Battery for my 09 SE5

My Spyder went into service on Jan of 09 and last week the battery died. 12K miles and lots of downtime while we bought and sold houses and moved. I can't complain about 5 yrs +. My choices for battery weren't real great on a Sunday morning. I searched the web a bit and decided to take a...

so what do you think america should do

I agree Of the few places where the Olympics were disrupted by violence one of them was Atlanta with an explosion. If I remember my geography at all, that's in the USA.

    Tilting Trailer

I have a similar trailer. I screwed together 2 short 2 x 6 pieces (2 of these) and run the rear wheels of my Blazer up on them. This tilts the trailer. I also try to position the trailer wheels in a low spot. I set the parking brake on the Blazer and know that nothing will move while driving...

    Trailer loading problems

I put the trailer wheels in a dip too. I also have 2 2 x 6's nailed together with a slant cut on one end, a mini ramp of sorts. I back the tow vehicle wheels up on those to give the trailer a flatter ramp angle. It helps too.

    Originating new ISO grips

I mounted mine w/o glue by wrapping the bars with some heavy friction tape. Gorilla tape I think. Had more trouble getting the left one tight than the right. I have the rubber pads on the top and bottom. Never thought about rotating them for more comfort. I'm going to try that soon. On my...
