Thanks everyone. I feel so much better knowing I'm not a Clutz. I've hit my shin at least twice each of the last 6 weeks...... (that's how long I've had my 2009 GS.) My family and friends are sure I'm the only one who has this problem............ couldn't possibly be those smart Canadian designers.:shocked:

Another option

That parking brake foot pedal is not handy to say the least. My left ankle is too weak to operate it at all so I converted it to a hand brake like shown in this link. It works great. If people think it's geeky that's fine. To me it does the job and I'm still riding!
