• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2008 GS Tail Light out

Tail light bulb I burned one out about 4 years ago. No affect on running. You can access the bulb socket thru a narrow gap on the bottom of the tail piece. That's where some people cut away some of the plastic. I was able to reach in and grasp the socket with 2 fingers (no thumb!) and turn...

    Lamonster Garage Air Pack

A Quick Question Is that hose by any chance the same threads as the hose used on the tubular self-storing bicycle pumps? That would provide more flexible length to work with. I'm thinking of it for my wife to use to pump her bike tires. Could be a great tool for her.

    Confused about front tire clearance

RT43 I put those tires on my '09 GS last summer in that same size. They fit just fine with no adjustments or spacers. I bought them from Discount Tire and they mounted them. One clue: remove the mud flaps (2 screws each) and the wheels go off and on much easier. Also this store couldn't...

    New Battery

+1 for the Odyssey PC 680 I replaced my OEM after 6yrs with the Odyssey PC 680 and it's doing great. My Spyder sits for several weeks w/o running sometimes and it fires right up. Most of my rides are 60 miles or more so I feel I'm charging it OK. I put a charger on it once and it showed...

    Front wheel alignment

Align and Re-tire together I would do the alignment and tire replacement as close together as possible. My original fronts wore off the insides in 7K miles. The new tires started wearing badly immediately but I ran them about 4K before getting the laser alignment. It still didn't track very...

    Advise re; tire wear

One more vote for the Atlimax I'm in the Phoenix area and bought the General's from Discount Tire. They installed the fronts with no questions asked but could not balance them due to the small center hole. I'm running them as mounted with no issues so far. I had the rear mounted at a local...

    Passenger handle

Passenger Handles I didn't see any handles on Lamont's site. Could some one post a link to them so I can check them out. My SO finds the stock ones too low to use safely. Thanks.

    Goodrich Tire

BFG vs General I've been running the radial T/A's on my '02 Blazer for years and love them. They are quiet, grip well and wear great. Got over 50K miles on one set. They do have raised white letters on one side. Not sure if you can avoid that. On my RS SE5 I'm running the Altimax RT43's...

    2013 Spyder ST

Thanks! We seem to be looking at the std ST. It has the original RS style front fenders and foot pegs rather than floor boards for rider. That's still a pretty nice machine. If I didn't have all my nice upgrades on my 09 GS I'd be tempted for myself. A 13 ST SE5 with less than 800 miles on...

    2013 Spyder ST

I'm looking at a '13 ST with a friend who is interested. It is a nice upgrade from my 09 GS. One question we have: does the 13 ST have cruise control standard or not? Waiting for some expert to help us. Thanks.

    Vibration in Handlebars

The Spyder is my 1st V-Twin. I'd love to see a knowledgeable discussion of vibrations...all those vibes! Vibes related to speed Vibes related to transmission gear. Vibes related to engine RPM. It could be a seminar (or would that be a webinar?). :dontknow:

    A tire!

I started out with 25 psi in the rear and it seemed pretty loose in the curves. At 28 the rear follows the front much better. The life long tire test continues. ;)

    Check Transmission

You have to wonder if the computer picked up some code during that quick downshift. Do you leave the key in the ignition while it's parked? I would remove it for a few minutes and see if anything changes. If not, you might try disconnecting the battery for about 10 mins to force the nanny to...

    A tire!

I'm running them I have only about 300 miles on the Generals on my 09 GS (front and rear). So far I like them. They are quiet and track well. I'm in AZ so may never get to test them on wet roads. ;) Currently have 17 psi in the front and 28 psi rear. I may experiment a bit with that. The...

    CURIOUS ABOUT TIRES

I just put the Altimax RT43 on the rear of my 09 GS and it comes very close to the license plate bolts. I can get my fingers in the gap but that's all. I wonder it there's that much variation in the length of the drive belts.

Rear tire replacement - what is everyone liking now?

Altimax RT43 here too Based on all the discussion here I put the RT43's on the front about 300 miles ago. Running them at 17 psi and so far they are great. Today I had one put on the rear and I'll add my $.02 after some experience with it. All this at 16K miles. Wore out 2 sets of front...

Stupid!! To have to remove 4 Panels and 2 plugs just to change the oil & filters!

My Honda NighthawkS had 3 drain plugs plus the spin on filter. The use sections of the frame to circulate the oil up to an oil cooling radiator. One large oil pan would catch the filter, the crankcase, and one frame drain. Then a coffee can caught the 2nd frame drain. Fun fun fun. It was a...

What would it take to convert to a Hand brake?

ISCI Hand brake here too +1 on the hand brake. It's pricey but well made and easy to install. I also use it most of the time over the foot pedal.

    Hand Brake

Another choice for the Parking Brake I have the same problem with the foot on the PB so I converted it to a hand operated parking brake using a steel plate, some all-thread covered by a plastic tube, and an after market shift knob plus a little black paint. I'm totally happy with how it works.
