• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

Well, at .308, it's on the lower side of large caliber - but at 6,000 rounds/min it puts a lot more mass downrange than I can put there with my .50 BMG rifle (which I fire comfortably wearing EP-3's also). If I were a deer downrange, I'd be very afraid. However, no animals were harmed while...

    best oil?

I came across this article about four years ago, and it (along with several other very detailed analytical articles) helped solidify my decision to use Rotella T Synthetic in all my powersports engines... and I have, happily, since. I still haven't decided whether I will use it also in my...

Do you use Ear Plugs ?

I use SureFire EarPro EP-3's - they let up to 85 dB through for normal listening, but block SPL's above this. Very comfortable, and a lot of ear buds will also plug into them. I'm biased, I work for the company, but they are quite good, and quite economical. I ride with them and also wear...

    GAS - regular or premium?

Heck, maybe they're publishing the relative adiabatic compression... the static plus the effective additional compression due to adiabatic heating?

Spring is in the air, and on the garage floor!

Looks about the right size to be an add-on trunk pop-up spring... did you install one and forget about it?

    Shifting gears...

Clutchless shifting WILL add wear to the shift dogs between gears. Will it add enough wear to cause tranny failure before the rest of the bike is due for the scrap heap? Maybe, maybe not - depends on how hard you shift, how often and how well, without the clutch. One thing is for certain - if...

    Deals Gap shut down

Just proves the point that half the population of the world is BELOW average... and for every 99 percenter, there's a matching 1 percenter.

Off to a bad start this morning

So you're suggesting that the other 14% have less right to express their opinions than your 86%? If we're going to start censoring free speech I suggest that your's is the comment that doesn't belong here... not Gary's.

    NHTSA COMPLAINTS

And, of course, this is exactly what the class action, ambulance chasing sharks are hoping for. No offense intended to any attorneys here, I was married to one for 22 years... but class action abuse is the scourge of the US judicial system - making fortunes for the law firms and a pittance for...

    Decisions, Decisions.......

The Chinese piggyback shocks I've seen on their ATV's are fake, just a plastic housing to look like a reservior and to look cool - I suspect these are the same ones.

    Spyder copy, not very good.

The engines in these Chinese bikes are pretty reliable - if all the planets have aligned properly during assembly; it's everything else that's the problem - mom and pop shops turn out everything from brake calipers to to carburetors, all based upon a common design, but quality control from one...

    Spyder copy, not very good.

Standard Chinese CVT scooter design (I have a couple of these - 2 wheelers) with an extra wheel and copied plastic. Notice it has a shift lever? It's just to select reverse. It's using the universal Chinese all terrain vehicle belt drive CVT configuration with a reverse box. My Kymco 250...

3amp accessory fuse on 12V Trunk Outlet - Higher amp fuse? - Please Advise.

Although heating the wire and the potential for fire is an issue at the higher currents, another problem to be aware of is that of voltage drop. Voltage drop is a function of the current passing through the wire times the resistance of that wire. Wire resistance is a function of the wire's...

Charger Question - Battery Type - Which Charger

Groundeffect: Don't let anyone rag on you for being over zealous (me included :D). There's nothing wrong with asking questions and wanting to understand more then the average owner...
