• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Owners without problems - Rollcall

I ordered my spyder in August 08 and received it on 11 November 2008. Since that time I've ridden just over 4,500 miles with no problems. I have yet to get the 1st update for fear that I will start having problems. I get an immense amount of enjoyment riding and will continue to do so.

XOPRODOX Grips: So Far, So Good!

I just finished riding for a few hours. The new grips worked out great! They are comfortable, and they do seem to isolate my hands from vibration a little better than the old setup. I strongly recommend these grips to anyone looking for something different. These grips also have the allen...

    Scotty...winter storage tire pressure?

I think you should not operate the spyder at high tire pressure, but storing the Spyder with high pressure shouldn't do anything. Anything, except keeping flat spots from forming on your tires. I agree that it is better, if you have the chance, to take it for a ride. However, if you are...

    Billet aluminum floorboards

Those look great! :2thumbs: Are they available from a retailer, or did you have them custom made?

XOPRODOX Grips: So Far, So Good!

I used Grip Puppies for a while with great results. However, they eventually split after about six months and I had to endure the stock grips again for a few weeks. I decided to get the XOPRODOX grips, because I like having a larger grip. The installation was pretty straight forward. The...

    video- Steering issue

I think you probably have much more mechanical wisdom than I do, but I would lean towards the cautious side. When it comes to steering and brakes, I do not take too many chances. I've not experienced any on my own spyder, so I don't know how severe the ill-effects can be. However, if it...

    Call from dealer

Don't get discouraged. I was one of the first Spyders they sold, and the issues with set-up have most likely been remedied. I also understand that they were in the process of "turning over" some of their employees; particularly in the shop area. I think they have tried to make some...

    I agree with Lamont

:dontknow: I've been conditioned to thank that if you see a problem, don't complain if you can't offer suggestions and be part of the solution. I don't see how another negative post helps this situation. If you must leave; happy trails. I'm like the many who appreciate the candor of the...

    Call from dealer

I live in north KC and actually purchased my spyder from Advantage in north KC. I was not impressed with their customer service and their shop personnel. They didn't do the initial set-up correctly and were not quick to fix their mistake. From then on I am willing to make the drive all the...

    Call from dealer

If you've never dealt with Reno's before, I'll tell you they are excellent to work with. While I've never purchased anything from them, I do go there to have all my service work done on my Spyder. Very friendly, and seem to have techs that know the Spyder well. Good luck with the RT!

    Passenger hand holds

There is currently another thread discussing the tone we take with one another. I think this is a great example of a post sounding condescending and somewhat insulting to a person that is innocently bouncing ideas off of a group that has been, otherwise, helpful. Capitalizing all of the...

Blog- Compairing the RT to the RS

I've been thinking about different wheels to achieve a slightly wider stance. I know we've seen the bikes that have ordered the wheels from Immortal Kustomz and Ride Wright Wheels, but I'd like to see more options. If the width were similar to those, except a shorter diameter to allow a...

    Enough is ENOUGH

Hey Genius, There is a major flaw in your reasoning, which I have quoted. Those that are voicing concerns, or "whining," as you put it, cannot ride. The point of this particular thread is that the shop has their Spyders and it is taking a painfully long time. Of course, if you'd stop...

    Can you bypass VSS?

I don't personally care to disable the VSS on my Spyder. However, I do recall several people asking the same question when the Spyders first hit the streets. Although we've come to understand that the VSS is probably best left active; thanks to others' misfortunate experimentation. I don't...

    helmet warranty sucks

I've read other articles that debate the value of a "Snell" rated helmet. Based on that, I chose to go with a Shark RSR2 because it is both DOT and ECE rated. Luckily, I don't know how well it works in an accident. However, I do enjoy the piece of mind.

    military base sticker

I attached mine directly to my Cal Sci. I don't think there will be any major problems removing it when the time comes. I'll just remove the entire shield and put plenty of WD-40 or Goo Gone on it to loosen the adhesive. This may not make the PMO very happy when I have to turn them back in to...

    MPG

I'm not an engineer, but I thought there were more variables than just engine speed. It is my understanding that different engines are optimized for different power bands. That is why my VW can turn roughly 4K rpm and still get better mileage than a similar sedan with a larger v-6 turning 3k...
