• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    SPYDER COVER

I use the NelsonRigg full cover for the Spyder. It's waterproof, has two internal liners, one for windshield and one for the hot pipes so you can put it right on and don't have to worry about hot parts melting it. It also fits larger windshields like the CHAD. Squishes down to about football...

ESI up & out and Ultra touring windshield

It is definitely a known issue that the Up n Out Mirrors will not work with a stock Ultra Touring Shield. I believe that ESI even notes that somewhere on their site. As for cutting it, many here have modified shields so I am sure you will get some assistance. Good luck.

    Opinions Needed about Exhausts

Dual Two Brothers exhaust with the power tips and had baffles put in by a chopper shop. Don't think it much louder than a hindle now but still sounds nice and gives the spyder the two can look.

Manual (SM) or Elecitric Semi-Auto (SE) shifting?

Test road a SE5 and was quite impressed with the shifting and what not. But in the end, just had to have a manual. Just something about having the clutch.

DPS (Dynamic Power Steering) Recall Post - Can-Am website news

The number of folks without problems far out number the those with problems. I ride a 2008 and find it to be both safe and reliable.

    eXperience

Scotty, that is a good point about the friction point exercises. It does help with using the clutch. But with the SE5 solid clutch skills are not a requirement for Spyder riding. And as for teaching you how to deal with panic situations I just disagree that an MSF course helps with that other...

    eXperience

There has been a good bit of talk about the importance of an MSF class and while I certainly think it's a good idea as it covers alot about just being more aware while operating the vehicle, I just don't see it being crucial like it is for operating a 2 wheel motorcycle. BRP intentionally...

    Wheel covers off?

There are a number of folks on here that run no front fenders or no rear fender or both. Many have altered the fronts and rear for a custom look as well. Personally, I have replaced the rear fender with the Corbin one as I think it cleans up the back of the vehicle. As for the fronts, I...

    Anybody?

I just sucked it up and bought the Corbin rear fender. Looks great and gives you a nice led license plate frame.

    windshields

Motza, that's actually what I was going to do but to get both it's a 400+ price tag and then you have to drill new holes in the BRP shield to fit it on the robo brackets. Worse still, you now have the original mounting holes along the edge of the shield making it look horrible. Just wasn't a...

    windshields

I purchased a CHAD back in Sept and it was badly malformed. Industries 7 sent me a replacement and that shield was worse than the first, so warp I could not mount it. At that point Industries 7 told me they had manufacturing issues and that all the shields they currently had were malformed and...

Spyder - Comfortable as your only vehicle?

I ride the Spyder everyday. It is my commuter vehicle and errand runner provided the results of the errand will fit in the trunk. I have had very few issues with the spyder and those issues I have had were resolved quickly. Now, with a 2 year old and my wife not allowing me to strap the...

    Corbin seats

Really like my Corbin seat but I do find myself sliding forward during breaking and decel as others have noted. I think this only happens if you alter your riding position with handlebar risers. I will be doing the same modification that Lamonster detailed in another thread.

BRP Ultra Touring shield with Robobrackets??

I have two defective shields in my garage right now, it's the shields themselves. The bracket needed the minor tweaks to get it to fit right but nothing big. The shields however are just not molded right. The first one was a half inch taller on one side and not symetrically molded from left...

BRP Ultra Touring shield with Robobrackets??

So I am still waiting for Industries 7 to send me a replacement for my defective CHAD windshields... I have been waiting since the end of September and they have been unable to correct whatever manufacturing issues have plagued their production and am I starting to get tired enough to ponder...

    stupid exhaust question

I have the dual cans and have been told the dual is quieter than the single. I found them too loud for my taste and so I had a shop add a baffle to each can. Now it's on par with the hindle or Leo Vince and I still have the dual can look. :)

Out of Sight, Out of Mind

It must be related to where you live. I am in San Diego and I actually get very few questions. Occasionally someone will ask about it at the gas station or super market but actually very rarely. I just assumed more and more were being seen so they dont have the same "What is that" flare...

    Robobrackets system and hand protection

Dynamo, I originally purchased the CHAD from No Magic. It was defective (malformed and not level across the top). No Magic sent me to Industries 7 (they were very nice about it) and so I had Industries 7 send me a replacement. That shield was also defective. Malformed (bent in funny ways)...
