• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

Prudhoe Bay Thanks for all the helpful responses. I've purchase airbag armor and plan to install it tomorrow. I'm fairly positive we will make the trip to at least the Arctic Circle, then make a decision. I will add a bumpskid next Spring and purchase a Alaska Milepost. Joe

My Adventure(the good, bad and indifferent) from west Texas to North East Tennessee.

Problem You might want to check your battery. I'm told when it gets weak it starts shutting down less important uses, such as power steering. Joe

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

Prudhoe Bay Thanks for this level headed advice. This definitely sounds like more adventure than I am willing to take on. Akspyderman's alternative may be my options. Joe

    Prudhoe Bay Alaska in 2019

I'm just starting to plan a trip with my brother to Alaska next year and including the Haul Road up to Prudhoe Bay. I'd like to request advice from those of you with this experience. I have a relatively new Yokohama on the rear and Michelin on the front, 22,000 on bike, 17k by me. 1) Did you...

    Headlight replacement

I just replaced my OEM halogen headlights with Sylvania Silverstar halogen 9005's at a cost of about $30. I considered LEDs but the $95 cost stood in the way. Was this a mistake?

Refused to sell me a tire..........

yes, you have to take it off yourself in most cases. It is straightforward enough, but not easy. You also need a 36mm wrench and socket, a torque wrench capable of 150 pounds, and a 15 mm socket with a long power handle. I just did my first, and after a 3,324 3week trip on a car tire, would...

    Who's watching the eclipse?

Eclipse I'm right here in Nashville, with possibly up to 1.4m of my closest friends coming to visit. I can't imagine what the traffic will be like tomorrow about lunchtime.

KUDDOS TO GEISLER MARINE, POWASSAN, ONTARIO

Great dealer I would like to compliment a US dealer, Rich at Uniontown Sazuki in Smock, PA. He talked me through an ignition module problem over the telephone.

    New tires

Back tire I just returned from a 3,324 mile, 20 day trip with a new Michelin Pilot on the rear. I got less than 8,000 on a Kenda. In turning reasonable sharp corners at speed with the Kenda, the Spyder wanted to turn an increasingly tighter circle. This doesn't happen with the Michelin. I use...

    Replace brake pads

Brembo piston compression i had the same problem and found that none of the automotive brake tools were small enough so I made one. BajaRon is developing a tool to turn the piston but without the compression feature.

    Help.....

Ignition module The exact same thing happened to me in Hammondsport, NY. I called several area dealers and none stock this module. One service manager did say that he has yet to have to transport a Spyder for this reason, the they have all eventually started on their own. I made it back to...

    Ignition module trouble

Ignition module the module appears to have corrected itself, at least it hasn't shown up in the last several days. I'm still on my trip, on the way to visit Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater today. I would like to give a "shout out" and compliment Rich, the service manager at Uniontown...

    Ignition module trouble

I've just had my first encounter with the ignition module in my 2014 RT-S. I've read you just need to keep trying and this did work after about an hour. I'm in Hammondsport, NY for a classic bike show this weekend. Spyder dealers I've passed coming down from Niagara Falls do not stock this...

    BEST PRANKS

Pranks I grew up in watermelon growing country. Then we're priced at as little as $.10 each after the initial rush was over. I never did this, but heard stories of splitting one and putting the halves under a car's drive wheels. It took a while to get them worn down to the point of regaining...

    help info for a trip

Long ride In my opinion, the only way this trip could be boring is to stay on Interstates. Check out Salton Sea if you've not been there. Go through Prescott, AZ and check out he downtown bars. There is a huge hole in the ground for a copper mine in SE New Mexico. Check out the mysterious...

    Before I leave the dealership

First trip I rode from Nashville, TN to Prescott, AZ about a month after I purchased my RTS SE6. I had spend a good bit of time on SpyderLovers and learned to be watchful for the "dreaded orange screen". I'm an early riser and didn't know about the night time Orange tinted screen. I just about...
