• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    Replacing windshield arm

And I used a Sharpie "Metallic Silver" permanent which seems to work as well as white. OverHillAndDale: Good luck. As I posted in my thread on this, heat seemed to help get the Phillips heads out. Let us all know how it goes. Gary

Windshield arm replacement problem. Thoughts requested

I'm pretty sure that :cus: has been stalking me for years. Kind of like that creepy feeling when you think someone's watching you. :banghead: Gary

Windshield arm replacement problem. Thoughts requested

SOME GOOD NEWS AND SOME NOT Well the good news is I got the Phillips head screw off without any further damage to the head and was then able to remove the 2 covers and remove the arm assembly. I used the hair dryer to warm up the entire area. There was no danger of melting anything as it just...

    Any aftermarket seat shock/struts??

Mine is a 30 lb gas strut that I bought from a local retailer that makes and sell truck canopies. They also have replacement parts like these for the rear windows etc. I replaced mine because I have an Ultimate seat and the stock strut doesn't hold the seat up. I found 40 lbs too much and that...

    Opinions Needed on Windshield Arm

I have the other thread going about a problem I have been having with one of the Phillips head screws. At the beginning of my thread I mentioned why I'm replacing mine. I still think it is worth the effort. There have been enough of these things break that I don't want to be on a cross country...

Windshield arm replacement problem. Thoughts requested

Yes, mine were torx on the right and Phillips on the left. Anyway, thanks everyone for your input. It was all helpful and today I'm going to try heating the one Phillips that wouldn't come out with a soldering tip and hairdryer combination and see if I can get it out. If it breaks at least I...

Windshield arm replacement problem. Thoughts requested

I am in the process of replacing my windshield arm and have run into a small problem. Before it gets to be a big problem I thought I would ask for some thoughts. I'm at the point of taking off the screws from the pieces covering the gear head and magnet holding the arm. The 2 torx screws...

How I spent my Winter vacation (videos)

That looked like a lot of fun and you could tell it was pretty bumpy. Being familiar with the trails etc as you obviously are would help. Thanks for posting them. Gary

    El Paso, TX

Spyders specifically are manufactured and assembled in Valcourt, Quebec, Canada. I believe BRP might build some other things in Mexico but not sure what. Gary

    Dealer Attitude

Traditionally bike dealers will go out of their way to help people when then are from out of town on a road trip. This has been shown to be true for Spyder dealers too. I see your scenario as a little different. Gary

    Pizza...

We almost always make our own pizza's and have done so for many years including the dough. We have one almost every week. We like to experiment a little bit especially in the summer when we do them in the BBQ. Those usually get a pretty thin crust and don't take long to cook. Most often this is...

Tom and Robins Great Canadian Adventure

After the Homecoming event my wife and I are planning to take Hwy 132 around the Gaspe and into New Brunswick as this is an area that my wife has not been to. We have bicycled around Cape Bretton and I have driven it and really loved it. The Gaspe is very beautiful and will make a great ride. We...

    Replacing windshield arm

SpyderCruiser, Thank you for a timely post. noboot/Ron shipped mine out yesterday so I'll be doing this very soon. Like you I'm traveling to Valcourt for the Homecoming event. But our ryde will be much further. I recently changed over to a F4 Tall and Wide windscreen and although my oem bracket...

ShowChrome 1/2 cover, F4 wide windshield, and Rivco Trunk Rack

I can't answer your question with confidence as I don't have a full cover. If you're referring to a full cover made by BRP, my guess is that it probably wouldn't fit over the Rivco Trunk Rack but will fit over the F4 Wide. They are pretty tight fitting. We have a BRP half cover and an F4 Tall...

Pretty sure if you use a car that it should NOT be running. Maybe it doesn't matter but I would be very cautious about using a running car or truck. Gary

Questions regarding my route home from Valcourt

I live not very far from Highway 3 and you will not have any problem with gas or lodging. In addition, it is a very nice ride with good scenery and in pretty good shape. As suggested, use a good map and just get gas when needed or when available. My wife and I will be going and coming that way...
