• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Nolan helmets - what makes them so popular?

Although I frequently (mostly?) ride with my visor up, this is done with a full-face helmet. Yeah, there is still the occasional small rock or bug that makes its way in, but at least it's a smaller window than a 3/4 helmet or a modular with the chin bar raised. You can't always pick and choose...

Newbie questions! Trailer home tips, or fly/ride? Other Must knows?

If you have the time, a fly and ride is great. We did not have that much time, so it might have been a drive and ride. Two of us drive there, one drive back, the other ride back. I was not sure I wanted to be the guinea pig for HER bike, so we trailered. Yes, we used a U-Haul. Had...

Front Tires - anyone fitted 155/60/15's?

Those numbers are not "max load", they are merely a "load rating". You will have to look on the side of the tire to see what the max load is, but I can pretty much guarantee that it will be very adequate for the bike and passenger(s). .

Anyone found an A/mkt Replacement CB Antenna?

If you can't find one at your local truck stop, check Sierra Electronics. https://www.sierra-mc.com/ I installed one of their mounting blocks and antenna on my wife's RT-S last year. The antenna appears to be a standard one that you would find at a truck stop, but it is thinner, which would...

    Interesting video on helmet safety.

When I started riding 40+ years ago, the controversy between DOT and Snell was presented to me as a matter of SPEED. Think of it this way: If you place an object in a padded container and move the entire assembly into a barrier, the object will deform the padding a bit and hopefully survive...

Anyone upgraded to 5 bolt 4-1/2 pattern Hubs and 13" Wheels - RT622?

The WHEEL might be an upgrade but the tire certainly won't. It has that brand name that many of us won't even mention. .

How long does the 1300 engine last.

Nobody really knows how long they will last (yet). Too many of them are still piling on the miles to stop and look at the odometer. .

95,000 mile RT, would you buy it?

When you get your Spyder, be sure to join us in Zanesville in mid-June. .

95,000 mile RT, would you buy it?

Which part of oHIo do you call "home"? If you are in the southwest area, I would be willing to help you look at any candidates. .

Poorly designed OEM Tank bag! Anyone else?

Our situation with my wife's RT-S isn't much better. First of all, you have to open the seat to add fuel. To add insult to injury, we travel with a pack on the passenger seat area, that has to be removed to open the seat. I have taken my Suzuki on the last few trips. It has a magnetic tank...

Brake light flasher turn signal override

Very nice. I have not gotten close enough to a Ryker to examine the layout, but I would probably have considered adding a dedicated brake light with the flasher. .

    Pulsating lights

In the US, modulators are allowed on either beam, but must be installed on the power wire, not the ground (earth) wire, so there is no possibility of modulating BOTH beams. Yes, they are also required to have a photocell to prevent operation at night. Modulators also have a few more criteria...

Any other model Rear air shock fit on a 2013 ST?

Sorry, but I am going to have to disagree with Peter (Aawen). For your application, the airbag would be the PERFECT solution. The hard part would be trying to integrate it into the bike's computer. If you are willing to settle for an entirely manual system, it could probably be done. If you...

    Which LED manufacturer?

After watching both videos, I find your comments rather interesting. Headlight Revolution (HR) seems to not like any of the 360° bulbs, although they did not test the TricLED 360. Watching what was presented in the HR video, I would not install any of those in any of my vehicles, either. I...

Downshifts occur at very low rpm's

As already mentioned, the SEMI-automatic transmission will downshift when necessary to preserve itself. It has no idea what might be in your mind or on the road ahead, all it knows is "engine speed is too low, let's change gears". Yeah, the earlier v-twins needed to be kept at a higher RPM...

Looking for a Headlight modulator - any suggestions?

I understand that the Kisan unit works with LEDs, but have not verified it. Would like to find out and install one on my Suzuki. I have used modulators in the past on many bikes. Still have one on my Goldwing. If you have not ridden with one before, please learn how to use it COURTEOUSLY...
