• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

    2019 RT Catches on Fire

Also there were long bolts that protruded toward the rear right in front of the gas tank. So even if the hit wasn't hard enough to rupture the fuel tank, it could get shoved into those bolts and instant fuel leak. Not one of Ford's "Better Ideas". :)

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

Sure I do it all the time, usually downshift coming up to a stop. Like I said it's an old husbands tale. :) People used to do it as a matter of course because old time brakes were usually awful, and not very reliable. When brakes became actually capable of stopping a vehicle in a short distance...

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

"designed to do that"? Probably not, just a side effect of high compression and relative high gearing. And relatively low weight.

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

I suppose not that much, but old sayings die hard. And the thought was that unnecessary engine braking just adds unneeded wear and tear on the ancillary parts: clutches, transmissions, U-joints, differentials, etc. The thought was that you used the brakes for what they were designed: stopping...

Are M2 Shocks still in business?

    Gotcha. Thanks.

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

What I was trying to say is that if the sprocket/pulley rotates a bit when, either accelerating or decelerating, which could be due to wear of the sprocket/pulley splines, that movement could cause wear on the area of the sprocket/pulley under the head of the bolt, thus allowing the bolt to not...

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

That certainly sounds reasonable, but since BRB isn't giving out any information why the sprocket/pulley bolts loosen, it's pure speculation. It could be that the bolt wears on the sprocket/pulley and loosens due to that rather than the bolt physically turning and loosening.

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

It's a very old saying, I've heard it since I was in my 20's. "Brakes are cheaper than engines and transmissions". Just passing along old husbands' tales. :)

    Axle Nut on 2016 RT

You'll need two wrenches, as the bolt will spin if you only turn one end. But I assume you already have the socket.

    2019 RT Catches on Fire

Considering the guy was stopped when the fire started, it could be he dropped his lit cigarette. If so I doubt we'll ever hear the real reason it caught fire. It doesn't say how long after he stopped that the fire started.

    Them? Builder or seller?

    Rattle / Loose Front Sprocket

I agree about the engine break in, but consider which is cheaper: brake pads or clutch/transmission. :)

    Axle Nut on 2016 RT

I used a 25" HF breaker bar to loosen mine. They are upwards of 160 lb.ft. I do believe.

    Tire Longevity- Brand/ Mileage

I would think so, the difference in height from OEM should be less than 1/2".

F3L Fox Front Shocks Ebay $400 new

Wonder why the F3 shocks are reasonable, but the standard Spyder shocks are so outrageous. Bummer. It does make a person wonder what the physical differences are.

Yep, like Mr. Aawen said: they come in both flavors.

Just finished fender delete, license plate relocator side mount bracket setup!

Hmm, not really my cup of tea. I tend to like fender deletes on many sport bikes, but I'll have to admit I don't dislike the fender on Peggy's Spyder.

    2022 all new ghost model

Seems to me that if you lose traction with one tire, you'll lose traction with both. And I wonder if you could lean far enough to pull that off tire from contact with the pavement. Pure speculation though, unless you've actually ridden the thing to its limits. I think I'll stick to two wheels...
